The Red Bank International Film Festival is proud to announce the introduction of the
first annual 72 Hour Furious Filmmaking Contest, to be held over the weekend of June
5th – 8th, 2009. This will offer both amateur and professional filmmakers an intensive film
and video contest where participants will have 72 hours to write, create and edit a short
movie. This will culminate with a unique website featuring the films in conjunction with
screening at the Red Bank International Film Festival where the participants will show
their films and network with various other filmmakers and industry insiders. The contest
will push the creative envelope for a multitude of artists locally, nationally and
internationally. It will enable those with varying levels of experience and know-how to
compete with those of higher expertise. In effect, this contest will level the playing field
for all current and potential film and video artists. The Filmmakers Frenzy will be a one-
stop film contest, festival and networking opportunity.

We would like to offer you the opportunity to be a part of this exceptional experience.
Sponsorship of the 72 Hour Furious Filmmaking Contest provides a great marketing
prospect for your company. In addition to contestants learning about your company
through marketing materials and web resources, there will be a large contigent of family,
friends and industry personell attending the screenings. The 72 Hour Furious Filmmaking
Contest is also currently involved with developing a strategic plan for ongoing media
attention on the local and national levels. This is a great chance for your company to gain
a positive association with a competition that is both an exciting experience for seasoned
video and filmmakers, but also a great educational experience for student and novice
emerging media artisans. This is a competition that promotes participation by
community members of all ages and walks of life as well positive growth within the
industry.

Positive Youth and Industry Inspiration
Founded by film and video industry members and educators, the 72 Hour Furious
Filmmaking Contest provides regular educational outreach to schools and charitable
foundations by opening our doors to students that would otherwise not be able to
participate because of financial strain. We focus a significant part of the competition on
youth education, offering film and video making seminars in conjunction with the
Industry Film School. While the contest is open to artists of all ages, we feel that just as it
is imperative that we support and encourage current industry members, it is also
important that we find and cultivate the future members of the industry as well.

Who We Are
The 72 Hour Furious Filmmaking Contest was formed in 2009 to provide a unique and
specialized filmmaking experience, encourage growth in individuals, and ensure the
existence of film and video in our culture. Often times, creative individuals need the push
to get out there and hone their craft or just a reason to go out and explore what their
creative abilities are. By combining industry knowledge with an educational mindset, the
72 Hour Furious Filmmaking Contest fills this need.
Co-Founder Neal Bennett believes that hands-on industry training, and interaction with
professionals is vital to future success in the industry. Neal has 15 years of experience
that ranges from film and television to numerous multimedia productions. He is currently
the Director of the Industry Film School. His students have had great success both in and
outside of class, working on a variety of professional shoots and winning national awards
at the Student Television Network Conference in 2008 & 2009.

Co-Founder David Salowe believes that the intense immersion a contest like this affords
participants is an excellent educational opportunity. David is currently the head of the
video and film department at the Communications High School in Wall, NJ. A former
Teacher Of the Year whose students have won a multitude of awards and accolations, Mr
Salowe understands the value that real-world experience in film holds. His students have
gone on to such prestigious film programs at NYU, Drexel, Ithaca, University of
Southern California, Chapman University and many others.

With the relationships formed by these two professionals within this industry, Neal,
David and the 72 Hour Furious Filmmaking Contest will provide participants with the
opportunity to create, learn and network within the industry with professionals currently
working within the field.
