ABOUT BARTERCARD

Bartercard is committed to helping Small to Medium Sized Enterprises (SMEs) grow and achieve financial

success by facilitating a trade exchange network that offers dynamic and effective ways of conducting

business. Although the concept of barter is thousands of years old, bartering through Bartercard is the most

innovative way of combining modern technology, a community of businesses, and indirect and direct

marketing channels to increase your customer base, increase sales, increase profit and improve cashflow.

Most businesses operate on the earn-save-spend model for making purchases. They earn the money. They

save the money. They spend the money. This model is effective when the business is earning enough money

to cover costs, plus save a little for growth. But what happens when the business isn't earning enough money?

Or if the business is experiencing the inevitable catch 22 - you need to grow now to earn more in the future?

Bartercard delivers a viable and innovative solution to these common problems experienced by Small to

Medium Enterprises (SMEs).

Ever since the inception of Bartercard into the UK economy in 1996, the way companies across the country

conduct their day-to-day business has been revolutionised. Bartercard‟s world-leading innovative trade

exchange system enables over 75,000 trading members in 9 countries to benefit from the cashless economy

of barter.

With commitment and tenacity, Bartercard has forged a substantial company that is today the largest and

fastest growing barter network in the world. Bartercard currently trades over $1.3 billion in cashless

transactions per annum, and operates in 9 countries and six languages, however, new international markets

are continually opening. Bartercard offers flexibility in that a member of Bartercard can trade with any other

member of the exchange globally without the need for a direct two-way exchange of goods and services.

BARTERCARD HISTORY

Wayne Sharpe, Andrew Federowsky and Brian Hall founded Bartercard on the Gold Coast, located on the

eastern seaboard of Australia, in 1991. The three founding Directors shared a dream and vision, to make

me to have more cash in hand allowing me to focus on other projects. The service is fantastic, quick and I even went on my

honeymoon via Bartercard. They are a fantastic vehicle to free up more cash for your business”.

                                                                                                                                 5

INCREASE SALES

“Bartercard has been a fantastic driver of sales in our business. In the last year alone, Bartercard has really helped us generate

sales. We use these trade pounds for everything including advertising, graphic design and printing – all of which saves us hard

earned cash. Bartercard has helped our business grow tremendously in the past year of our membership. In our industry word

of mouth is by far the most effective means of advertising as satisfied customers naturally report back to prospective customers

in the cash world, I regard every barter pound spent as PR.”

Ian Shore, Director, Viking Removal Service

DECREASE COSTS

“My company joined Bartercard in 2004 and have been impressed with the extra business that being a Bartercard member has

created.

The trade pounds I have accumulated I have used for staff incentives. More recently, with the help of the trade co-ordinators, I

have booked my sales staff party at a local hotel which we do every year. Offsetting this expense by paying in trade pounds, I

have saved around £6,000 which would have come off my bottom line profit.

I would recommend any company joining Bartercard, as it can be a powerful business leverage if used effectively.”

David Moss, Director, Nationwide Home Improvements

“I wanted to let you know how pleased I am with the investment I made in The Best of York, a new client to the York Bartercard

membership base, and how yet again Bartercard has helped my business!

The Best of York is an internet directory and bearing in mind I don‟t have a website I wasn‟t convinced. The advertisement went

„‟live‟‟ on the 23rd December, and on January 9th I confirmed the first job as a result of an enquiry from The Best of York

website. To say I am delighted is an understatement!

Can you please pass on my thanks to the whole team at the Bartercard office for all of their hard work on my account.

Bartercard has certainly come up trumps again! Not only do you regularly save me money on my normal business expenses,

but you help bring me cash business too.”

Andy Simpson, Director, A & L Home Solutions

INCREASES CASH FLOW

receive from the Central Counties brokerage.

We have been in Bartercard now for a couple of years and fully appreciate the benefits of Bartercard and how it not only

enhances our cash flow but enables us to purchase many things that as a small company we would not entertain in the cash

world.”

Robert Marsden, Director, Impact on Hold.

INCREASES CASH FLOW

“My congratulations! I would like to thank you and your team for keeping my cash in the bank…the more trade pounds I spend,

the more cash I have to spend. And the more trade pounds I want to spend, the more work your team find me. You supply me

with my own little sales force.

Finally, what a team, nothing is too much trouble, the cash conversion ideas are always excellent and what ever they do, truly

professional.”

Chris Barrett, Director, The Cleaner Company

INCREASES CASH FLOW

“Our Bartercard membership consistently frees up our cash flow, which is a massive benefit but it has also allowed us to show

PROVIDES AN EXTENSIVE MEMBER BASED NETWORK

“Burn & Company would like to thank you for „persuading‟ us, in December 2005, to join the system, with an initial trial for a

year.

The amount of quality business we have received has far exceeded our expectations, with us attracting numerous new clients,

who under normal trading arrangements may not have otherwise considered using our services. They in turn have been happy

to recommend us to others, some who may not necessarily be Bartercard members.

As far as spending our „trade pounds‟, we are managing to find suppliers for most of our requirements, with help from the „girls‟

in your office.”
