Dear IRES Member:
Thank you for considering joining the IRES Research Pool.
The IRES Research Pool is a list of IRES members by areas of expertise who are willing and able to
volunteer their time to assist with the work being done by the various National Association of Insurance
Commissioners (NAIC) Committees, Task Forces, Working Groups and/or Subgroups. The general areas
of expertise contained in the IRES Research Pool are:
Annuities Medicare Supplement
Continuing Care Retirement Communities Other Lines of Business
Credit Insurance Property & Casualty
Health Settlements
Life Title
Long Term Care
When assistance may be needed, key IRES members will be able to offer to the various NAIC groups the
assistance of the IRES Research Pool. Upon the NAIC’s solicitation of input from a NAIC Committee,
Task Force, Working Group, and/or Subgroup, a key IRES member would provide the appropriate
NAIC’s working group chair with a list of subject matter experts who may be able to assist with the issue
at hand. Key IRES members will be those members who are in a position to offer the assistance of the
IRES Research Pool, because they regularly attend the NAIC meetings and/or serve on the various NAIC
Committees, Task Forces, Working Groups, and/or Subgroups that may need to utilize the Pool. The chair
of the working group may then contact IRES Research Pool volunteers to help research or draft
preliminary documents. While attendance at NAIC Quarterly meetings will NOT be necessary; the work
may require that specific deadlines be met depending on the circumstances related to the work at hand.
If you are interested in helping with this project by volunteering to be a part of the IRES Research Pool,
please complete the following survey and follow the directions in the survey to e-mail it to Jo LeDuc at
