CONGRATULATIONS: Please help me congratulate our fantastic freshman, Anjunea Hair, Ms. Skiza’s student and Kyle
Hreczuch, Mrs. Abend’s student on becoming finalists in the Creative Communication Poetry contest. Both students will
have their poems published in a hard bound anthology called, A Celebration of Poets. As finalists both students have the
potential of winning $3,000 in prizes. Good Luck

HEY, MAINE SOUTH! Would you or someone you know like to win a free iPod Touch? Next week Student Council is
raffling off an iPod Touch in order to help raise money for the Park Ridge Kibosho Project where $25,000 is going towards
building a community center and library in Tanzania. The focus is on women, orphans and children affected by HIV/AIDS.
So buy your tickets in the café next week: either 1 ticket for $2--or 3 for $5. Win your free iPod Touch and donate to this
wonderful cause!

STUDENT COUNCIL MEMBERS: Come to the Student Council office to pick up your raflle tickets for the ITanzania raffle.

STUDENTS & STAFF: All remaining hawk apparel in the bookstore is now either $5 or $10, stop by and make your final
purchase. Even full zip hoodies are only $10 and we have mediums and larges still.

STUDENTS: Drug Free Schools Fun Night scheduled for May 22nd has been canceled. SADD will be sponsoring a lunch
period event on May 27th instead. Details will soon be available.

STUDENTS: Anyone interested in working booksales and booksale pre-pack please stop by the bookstore and pick up an
application. If you worked last year and would like to come back just come in and put your name on our list.

SENIORS: Don't forget to return your textbooks to the bookstore after any and all finals. Also when paying for prom
tickets, dues etc. payment must be made with cash or credit card.

STUDENTS WHO BOUGHT AN ECOLOGY SHIRT: The shirts are in and can be picked up before school in room 314 or
after school in room 308 during this week from Miss Johnston. Thank you again for your green contribution to Maine
South!

SENIOR PROM: Senior Prom guest permission forms are now available in the Deans' Office and on the Deans' website. If
you are bringing an outside guest to Senior Prom, you will need to complete this form and have it signed by your Dean
prior to purchasing your tickets. Completed guest permission forms are to be turned into the Deans' Office no later than
Friday, May 29th, 2009 at 4:00 p.m. No guest permission form will be accepted after that date.

SENIORS: on Wednesday May 20th at 9am sharp, the senior class photo will be taken in the spec. gym. The cost is $18
cash or check made out to Walberg Panoramic. Envelopes for payment are available in the bookstore and must be filled
in. Students who are wearing inappropriate or suggestive attire may be asked to change or sit out of the photo.
The yearbook will NOT publish this years photo.

FRESHMEN, SOPHOMORES AND JUNIORS: Students running for class officers will have their pictures taken tomorrow
morning, Tuesday, May 19th at 7:00 am. Please meet in the SPS office.

SENIORS: Celebration 2009 tickets go on sale in the Cafeteria starting Tuesday, May 19 through Friday, May 22 during
all lunch periods. Tickets will also be sold on Friday, May 22 before and after school outside the Bookstore. You must
bring your ticket order form AND the permission slip signed by your parent or guardian in order to purchase tickets.
Tickets are $40 each for the first 200 sold, and $50 for all tickets after that.
