A. IMPORTANT INFORMATION ON P0LICIES AND PROCEDURES
1. APPLICATION PACKAGE: There are three pages in this package. If the student is requesting assistance to find housing, all
three pages must be completed and sent to the Language Centre at the same time.
2. APPLICATION DEADLINE: By this date you must send in the complete Application Package and appropriate fees.
Required items: Program & Housing Application Form, English Program Registration Fee, Tuition Deposits for all terms of
English requested, Application form for undergraduate admission, Application Fee for undergraduate admission, documents
required for undergraduate admission and the Housing Application Fee, if required.
3. COMMITMENT DEADLINE: By this date you must send payment of the Tuition Balance and the appropriate Housing
Occupancy Amount, and must send arrival information. If you do not do all of these things by this date your registration will
be deferred to the next term.

F. CONDITIONS OF REGISTRATION
I understand that the Application Fee and Housing Application Fee are non-refundable and that the Tuition Deposit is non-refundable if I cancel or
defer after the COMMITMENT DEADLINE. I will be 16 years old before my course begins. I will be responsible for my personal financial needs. I will
obtain medical insurance for the complete period of study and will show proof of insurance to the Language Centre. I will follow the rules of the
university and the laws of Canada and Saskatchewan. I understand that the Language Centre has the right to cancel a course and refund all my
money, or change term dates and fees.

I understand that, under Canadian laws, insurance held by the owner of a home does not protect a tennant (homestay student or any other
renter) for loss of personal property due to theft, damage in fire, etc. Students are advised to obtain their own such insurance before leaving
their home countries or to ask for assistance in purchasing such insurance after arrival.
I understand that I must sign a Housing Contract committing me to the Housing Program from the date of my arrival
until the end of the term.

I understand that, within one week of arriving in Saskatoon, I will be required to pay the full amount of any balance owing
for the length of my homestay or residence.
I understand that the USLC Housing Program follows the customs and laws of Canada. This means any student will have
to pay a money penalty if he or she wants to stop participating in the housing program before the expiry date
of the housing contract.
I understand that, if I want to continue in the Housing Program for an additional term, I must commit to this and pay the
full amount owing for the next term by the Renewal Deadline.
I understand that, if I do not apply to renew my housing arrangement and do not pay the full amount for the next term
in homestay or residence, I will be required to make a new Housing Application and will be charged a new Housing
Application Fee of $200.

5. Homestay occupancy $ 1,633 ($23 per day for a term of 71 days- payable by the Commitment Deadline)
6. Residence occupancy $ 3,050 - $3,650 (Residences operate in blocks of 4 months - students must pay for the full
4-month period by the Commitment Deadline)
7. Airport pickup $60 (Not required for those in homestays)
8. Courier Fee $ 50 (Payable if Acceptance Letter is to be sent by courier.)
B. DEADLINES
1. APPLICATION DEADLINE: By this date you must send in the complete Application Package and appropriate fees.

English study requested, Application form for undergraduate admission, Application Fee for undergraduate admission,
documents required for undergraduate admission and the Housing Application Fee, if required.
2. PLACEMENT DATE: The Housing Application Fee can be refunded as long as the student cancels the Housing Application by
this date.
3. COMMITMENT DEADLINE: By this date you must send payment of the Tuition Balance and the appropriate Homestay or
Residence Occupancy Amount, and must send arrival information. If you do not do all of these things by this date your registration
will be deferred to the next term. This is also the last date to cancel your application and receive a full refund of tuition paid.
C. CONDITIONAL ADMISSION to the University of Saskatchewan through the Language Centre
1. International applicants who meet the academic requirements can be admitted to the university as long as they can present
evidence of English proficiency (TOEFL iBT - 80, IELTS 6.5 or another accepted test).
2. Academically qualified applicants who do not meet the language requirement for admission to undergraduate degree programs
can be granted Conditional Admission to Arts & Science or Agriculture & Bioresources. Conditional Admisson requires that the
student register for English study in the U of S Language Centre.
3. Applicants will normally receive two Letters of Acceptance (one for the English program and another for a degree program)
within 6 weeks of the date of receipt of the application, provided that no additional information is needed by the university.
D. HOW TO APPLY
1. Send a complete application containing all the required fees, forms and documents for both the undergraduate and English
programs to the Language Centre Registrar. The academic application will be forwarded to International Admissions.
2. APPLICATION PAYMENT REQUIRED: $ 840 for applicants requesting English, undergraduate admission and housing.

3. Academic documents required by the admissions office: Hui Kao results, school transcripts & graduation certificate
E. HOUSING
1. The Language Centre is able to offer housing in both homestays and student residences.
2. The Housing Application Form and the Housing Application Fee must arrive as part of the English Program Application.
3. The Housing Occupancy amount for the first term must be paid by the deadline set by the Housing Office.

F. LETTERS OF ACCEPTANCE & STUDY PERMIT
1. In cases of Conditional Admission, students will receive two separate letters: one from the Language Centre and another from
the university's International Admissions Office.
2. It is the student's responsibility to make all arrangements to obtain a Study Permit early enough to allow for travel to Canada
for the starting date of the course.
3. The Letters of Acceptance issued by the International Admissions Office and the Language Centre should be used as proof of
acceptance when applying for the Study Permit. The university is not able to provide any other help to students in obtaining a
Study Permit.
