Career Gear Inc., a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization was founded in New York City in
1999, to promote the gainful employment and self-sufficiency of disadvantaged men who
are actively becoming successful fathers, employees and community members.

Summary of Role:
·    Speakers and Facilitators are needed for Career Gear’s Professional Development
Series seminars to discuss development topics such as resume and interviewing tools,
financial independence, credit repair, workplace communication, health and nutrition,
stress management, parenting advice, etc. Workshops are 90 minutes in duration and
are held weekly throughout the year. Facilitating Professional Development Series
workshops provide participants the chance to meet and learn from speakers who wish to
share their areas of expertise. All topics are welcomed additions to our curriculum.

Duties and Responsibilities:
·    Greet and engage participants before and after seminars
·    Set up and break down workshop space
·    Provide personal knowledge and experiences of the professional working
environment
·    Teach discussion centered curriculum based on specific area of expertise
·    Administer surveys and handouts throughout the seminar

Specific Skills Required:
·   Ability to provide strong management and leadership
·   Active listening skills
·   Friendly yet professional approach in engaging individuals
·   Confident public speakers
·   Creative thinkers

Dates of Service:
·   Monday and/or Wednesday evenings throughout the year

Time of Service:
·   Evening Seminars, 5:30-8:00pm
