Exercise and Type 2 Diabetes
One of the most undemanding and the most workable ways to knock over blood sugar
amount, eliminate the dangers of "cardiovascular disease," and perk up health and
welfare in general is exercise.
In spite of that, in today's inactive world where almost every indispensable job
can be carried out online, from the ergonomic chair in front of a computer, or
with a streaming line of messages from a fax machine, exercising can be a hard
argument to win over.

The Weight of Exercise
Everyone should exercise, yet the health experts tells us that only 30% of the
United States population gets the recommended thirty minutes of daily physical
activity, and 25% are not active at all. In fact, inactivity is thought to be one
of the key reasons for the surge of type 2 diabetes in the U.S., because
inactivity and obesity promote insulin resistance.
The good news is that it is never too late to get moving, and exercise is one of
the easiest ways to start controlling your diabetes. For people with type 2
diabetes in particular, exercise can improve insulin sensitivity, lower the risk
of heart disease, and promote weight loss.

Type 2 Diabetes

Diabetes is on the rise. The number of people diagnosed with diabetes every year
increased by 48% between 1980 and 1994. Nearly all the new cases are Type 2
Diabetes, or adult-onset, the kind that moves in around middle age. Symptoms of
Type 2 Diabetes include increased thirst, appetite, and need to urinate; feeling
tired, edgy, or sick to the stomach; blurred vision; tingling or loss of feeling
in the hands.
The causes of type 2 diabetes are complex and not completely understood, although
research is uncovering new clues at a rapid pace.

However, it has already been proven that one of the reasons for the boom in type
2 diabetes is the widening of waistbands and the trend toward a more deskbound
and inactive lifestyle in the United States and other developed countries. In
America, the shift has been striking; in the 1990s alone, obesity increased by
61% and diagnosed diabetes by 49%.

For this reason, health experts encourage those who already have type 2 diabetes
to start employing the wonders that exercise can do for them. Without exercise,
people have the tendency to become obese. Once they are obese, they have bigger
chances of accumulating type 2 diabetes. <

Today, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services reports that over 80% of
people with type 2 diabetes are clinically overweight. Therefore, it is high time
that people, whether inflicted with type 2 diabetes or not, should start doing
those jumping and stretching activities.
Getting Started
The first order of business with any exercise plan, especially if you are a
"dyed-in-the-wool" sluggish, is to consult with your health care provider. If you
have cardiac risk factors, the health care provider may want to perform a stress
test to establish a safe level of exercise for you.
Certain diabetic complications will also dictate what type of exercise program
you can take on. Activities like weightlifting, jogging, or high-impact aerobics
can possibly pose a risk for people with diabetic retinopathy due to the risk for
further blood vessel damage and possible retinal detachment.
If you are already active in sports or work out regularly, it will still benefit
you to discuss your regular routine with your doctor. If you are taking insulin,
                                      Page 1

you may need to take special precautions to prevent hypoglycemia during your

Start Slow
For those who have type 2 diabetes, your exercise routine can be as simple as a
brisk nightly neighborhood walk. If you have not been very active before now,
start slowly and work your way up. Walk the dog or get out in the yard and rake.
Take the stairs instead of the elevator. Park in the back of the lot and walk.
Every little bit does work, in fact, it really helps a lot.
As little as 15 to 30 minutes of daily, heart-pumping exercise can make a big
difference in your blood glucose control and your risk of developing diabetic
complications. One of the easiest and least expensive ways of getting moving is
to start a walking program. All you need is a good pair of well-fitting,
supportive shoes and a direction to head in.
Indeed, you do not have to waste too many expenses on costly "health club
memberships," or the most up-to-date health device to start pumping those fats
out. What you need is the willingness and the determination to start exercising
to a healthier, type 2 diabetes-free life.
The results would be the sweetest rewards from the effort that you have exert

Teen Pregnancy Prevention
Since the early 1990s, teen pregnancies across America declined dramatically.
However, it is a teen pregnancy fact that 34% of teenage girls in America still
get pregnant before they turn the age of 20. This means that America has one of
the highest teen pregnancy rates in the world. As does England; in which one in
every five births in the country is from a teenager. These are shocking
statistics and adults and teenagers alike should be active in teen pregnancy

Talking about sex and pregnancy
When a child reaches the age of about 13, parents should be active in approaching
their child about their thoughts and ideas of sex and the possible consequences
of the act. Although it can initially be embarrassing for both parties, it will
pay off in the long run as education and knowledge is the best way to prevent
teen pregnancy. Talk to your child about the sexually transmitted diseases and
the risk of pregnancy as well as pregnancy prevent methods such as abstinence and
The safest path towards teen pregnancy prevention is abstinence. Not having
sexual intercourse will mean that you will never have to worry about catching any
diseases or unwanted pregnancies which will ultimately change your entire life.
Though there will undoubtedly be a lot of peer pressure to have sex, abstaining
from sex now will only mean that you will be 100% ready when you do decide to
take that step.<
The two most popular forms of teen pregnancy prevention come in the form of the
condom and the pill. The condom is a rubber latex glove that is placed over the
penis during sex to prevent semen from entering the vagina. The condom will not
only protect you from possible diseases that can be transmitted through the semen
but also from teen pregnancy. Teen pregnancy facts suggest that there are also a
large number of teens now taking the birth control pill, and this number is
increasing yearly. The birth control pill is taken every day and releases
hormones in the body to stop your body from ovulating. If you don't ovulate, then
                                      Page 2
                            proper socialization skill
no egg will be released and therefore there will be no egg for the sperm to
fertilize. If it is taken every day, the pill is very reliable in terms of
pregnancy prevention. However, the pill does not stop you from catching sexually
transmitted diseases and infections so you must still be careful.
The media often portrays teens regularly having sex. But you don't need to buy
into this. The media isn't real and it is perfectly normal to wait until you are
ready or for the right person to come along before having sex. The only 100% way
to prevent teen pregnancy from occurring is to not have sex at all.

MOVIE REVIEW: Southland Tales
Southland Tales. As in Tales from Southern California, but a different
California, where Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is an action star turned prophet,
Justin Timberlake is a veteran of Iraq, Sean-William Scott is actually a pair of
twins, and Sarah Michelle-Gellar is a porn star named Krysta Now. "No-one rocks
the cock like Krysta Now." Or so we're told. You never actually see her rocking
the cock, and she is more than welcome.
But the film doesn't try and pander to the type of audience who want to see a
flash of tits. Actually, it doesn't pander to anyone. It is by far and away the
most experimental film to come out of Hollywood recently, if you discount David
First of all, the film version of Southland Tales is actually chapters four, five
and six. Hey if Star Wars did it… The first three chapters are found in the
Southland Tales graphic novel, which actually makes more sense in itself and of
the film as a whole, explaining the various theories behind the film, whereas the
film itself drops the audience in the middle of a world that is far removed from
the one we live in.

There is wi-fi energy known as Fluid Karma, a screenplay written while under the
influence of drugs that foretells the End Of Days, and some freaky time
travelling. So, everything you would expect from the brains behind Donnie Darko.
The film is a mess, but an interesting one. Part of the disconnected plot is
concerned with the enigma that is the Book Of Revelations found in the Bible, and
you could view this as its modern cinematic counterpart. Some view Revelations as
a puzzle to be solved, containing a code to be dissected. Richard Kelly's film is
trying to push this, using the graphic novel and the film's website to further
the story and the puzzling plotlines within, quite literally forcing the audience
to actively seek it out, or, as most people did, walk out of the cinema.

While this cross-media, story/puzzle thing is a bold move, the film should stand
on its own legs, which, sadly, it does not. It's weird and wonderful, annoying
and infuriating, littered with great performances and godawful ones. It will no
doubt follow Darko in becoming a cult film, especially on DVD.
We do not recommend seeing this film, but you need to see it. It is the road less

pcp;Effects of Deadly Angel Dust Addiction
What is PCP, exactly? While developed during the 50's to be used as anesthesia,
phencyclidine, or PCP, has never made it to the market for human use. Due to the
                                      Page 3

erratic side effects, it was deemed illegal. Now going by such street names as
angel dust, rocket fuel, and wack, PCP is sold as an illicit substance, and a
very dangerous one at that.
Effects of PCP

People who use PCP experience different sensations. Most commonly, users
experience a disassociation of time and space from where and when they are at the
current moment. While high on PCP, a person may feel weightless, euphoric or even
experience hallucinations. Many times, abusers of this drug suddenly feel
paranoid due to disturbing hallucinations.
While people use PCP to get high, they often do not expect the severe side
effects that can come along with it. For instance, a bad reaction to angel dust
could include seizures, violent aggressiveness and even death.
PCP Abuse
PCP can be used in many ways, including swallowing the drug in pill or capsule
form, or drinking a liquid. The PCP drug can also be taken through injection or
by snorting it in powder form. PCP is also combined with other drugs to create
even more dangerous substances, one of which is called "killer weed" which is a
marijuana joint laced with PCP. The process of adding PCP to another drug is
called "dusting." Signs of PCP Abuse
While many of the effects of PCP are only noticeable to the user of the illicit
substance, there are many indications that can make someone high on PCP fairly
obvious, such as slurred speech, involuntary movement of the eyes, dizziness,
amnesia and many of the symptoms of schizophrenia. In fact, some people who
experience adverse reactions to PCP can become psychotic to the point where their
symptoms are identical to those of schizophrenia.
How to Test For PCP Abuse
Drug testing can be used to detect the abuse of PCP. While many people are
opposed to drug testing because they feel it imposes upon individual rights, the
fact of the matter is that drug abuse causes major problems in American society.
Whether it be in the workplace or on the home front, PCP drug abuse can wreck
lives, destroy companies and even kill. To prevent these atrocities from
happening, PCP drug tests can be used to answer your questions about "are they or
aren't they?" and take the first step in the right direction toward
Employers especially need to consider PCP drug testing. Drug use in the workplace
creates an unsafe environment for both employer and employee. Accidents are more
likely to happen, more sick days are taken and the costs to the company are
innumerable. By creating a drug testing program to detect illicit substances such
as PCP, the workplace can be a much safer place, and will live up to its full

PCP use is cause for concern the family as well. If you suspect drug abuse in
your home, especially that of angel dust, purchasing a drug testing kit may be
the best option for you. That lingering suspicion of whether or not your child is
using can be troublesome. Testing your teen for PCP now, can help ease your
worries and set them on the right track for life-one without the interference of

A Sense of Responsibility

Our lives are only as good as we decide to make them. We should make short and
long range plans and then follow them through, reviewing them as we go. It is our
design and determination that decide our destiny, and this is our responsibility.
When things are not right we should blame nobody, for that only dodges the
problems that are our own and that we must fix ourselves. Let's examine our own
actions and decide how things will be.
"Be not angry that you cannot make others as you wish them to be, since you
cannot make yourself as you wish to be." - Thomas Kempis (1380-1471)

We should make a special effort to be what we want to be, giving consideration to
what others might wish of us. We must do our duties, complete our tasks, be kind
and honest.
When there is the temptation for an immediate pleasure that may be harmful to us
or to others, we must resist. Where there are injustices we must speak up.

"It is not alone what we do, but also what we do not do, for which we are
accountable." - Moliere (1622-1673)
We are individuals and should do what we believe in, taking responsibility for
our actions. A good critical look at ourselves is very helpful in determining
what needs changing. It may also see much good to be proud of.

Not in the clamor of the crowded street,
Not in the shouts and plaudits of the throng,
But in ourselves, are triumph and defeat.
- Henry Longfellow (1807-1882)

Double Vision: Looking Back At A Commercial Icon

While many iconic images have been created as part of successful advertising
campaigns, some icons have histories as exciting as the products they endorse.
For example, did you know that the Doublemint Twins first appeared as only
illustrations? They debuted in print advertising for the famous gum in 1939 to
communicate its double benefits: a "double wrapped" wax-coated paper seal and a
"double peppermint" distillation process used to produce a sweeter, smoother
taste. These illustrated twins became the brand's signature and were drawn in
ever-changing matching hats for car card and poster advertisements.
It wasn't until 1960 that the first live twins appeared in television
commercials. They sang a catchy theme song that encouraged gum chewers to "double
their pleasure" and "double their fun." New sets of twins were cast for
commercials throughout the 1970s to 1990s and most recently reintroduced in 2005,
as Wrigley continued to offer fun variations on the double theme.
Now there's another kind of twins associated with the 90-plus-year-old trademark
minty taste: Doublemint Twins mints. Like the namesake gum, these mints offer
"double good, double fun" but with a blend of two flavors in a single mint.
New television commercials build upon the brand's heritage of the campaign and
the unique jingle but with an unexpected twist as viewers are introduced to a new
set of twins-two very different people that are dressed alike as twins.

The Golf Industry Is Expanding By The Day

Each and every year, the game of golf becomes even more popular. Therefore, the
golf industry is also expanding at an incredible pace. Golf industry is actually
a very broad term that encompasses every single aspect of golf. This could
include golf courses, driving ranges, golf lessons, golf stores and everything in
between. Since golf in general is becoming so popular, all of these different
industries are capitalizing on the popularity of the sport.

Thirty years ago, many people wouldn't think it was a great idea to open a golf
specialty store. But now, almost anywhere you go you could run a successful store
just because interest in the sport has sky rocked. Nowadays, it's a multi-billion
dollar business and is getting bigger and more profitable by the day. There are
so many different aspects to it that no matter what your skill level or financial
situation, you can somehow get involved in the golf business.

One of the factors behind the recent boom in the golf industry is the rise of the
popularity of the Internet. Now you can purchase golf clubs, clothes, shoes and
anything else online. You can register for golf schools, find out how to start
your own golf shop or even watch videos to receive golf tips. The Internet has
also made it possible for golfers from the world over to communicate with each

The rise of the Internet has created a huge online community of like minded
golfers. You are now able to enter chat rooms and discussion groups to discuss
your favorite courses, share tips and tricks or just shoot the breeze with like
minded people. You can also discuss with other people that you meet online where
the best online shops are and also share your personal experiences with them.
The golf industry is getting so large partly because there are so many young
golfers getting into the sport these days. It has become commonplace for golf
teams to be a part of colleges and Universities and even most high schools now
have them. Therefore, people are getting involved in the sport at a younger age
and most of them will continue to be involved for years to come.
And since so many younger people are getting involved in the sport, many are also
starting golf related businesses at a young age. This in turn serves to make the
golf industry even bigger. As these young entrepreneurs start these businesses,
they will continue to flourish. And even if they eventually decide not to be
involved anymore, they will be able to sell their business for much more than
they spent on it. The game of golf shows no signs of slowing down in popularity,
so entering the golf industry in any way is a great investment right now.
Even if you don't wish to start your own golf related business, you can still
play a role in the golf industry. There are many jobs available at golf courses
that don't require you to be a professional golfer but will still allow you to be
near your favorite sport all day long. You can work on the beautiful grounds,
work in the pro shop or if you are quite adept at the sport, even offer
instruction to others. No matter what your skill level may be, there is a place
for you in the booming golf industry that is only going to get bigger by the

Xbox 360: A Revolution in Console Gaming
It wasn't so long ago that kids who got the "new" Nintendo 8-bit gaming console
or the Sega system for Christmas were the envy of every less fortunate and burned
out Atari owning neighborhood playmate. As time elapsed, Super Nintendo, Sega
                                      Page 6

Genesis, and NES's Turbo Graphix 16 became all the rave. Anyone now in their
twenties can recall being impressed by the awesome advancements in playability
and graphic display of the Nintendo 64 and Sega's Dreamcast system, and even more
recently (only five or so years ago) the advent of Microsoft's Xbox, Nintendo's
Game Cube, and the Play Station by Sony. The Video Gaming industry has made great
strides in the past twenty years: from slow-moving, barely recognizable forms on
screen in original Atari games such as Pac-Man, Calga, and Tron, to the extremely
vivid and life-like graphics of Tomb Raider, Splinter Cell, and Tekken; available
for the Xbox and Play Station. Now, just in time for Christmas 2005, Microsoft
has made the next move in the continuing race for Video Gaming Supremacy with the
introduction of the Xbox 360. The result is truly phenomenal.
The Xbox 360, as with all video game consoles, is basically just a computer with
hardware and software dedicated to the function of running video games. The
original Xbox was pretty much just a Microsoft PC with a modified Pentium III
processor, some powerful graphics and audio capabilities, and a modified version
of the Windows 2000 operating system, all packaged in that distinctive black box.
This year Microsoft has released two versions of the Xbox 360: the Xbox 360 and
Xbox 360 Core System. The Xbox 360Core System is "plug and play", that is, that
in addition to the console, it includes an integrated controller and an AV cable.
The Xbox 360 (not the "Core system") comes with a wireless controller, an HD AV
cable, an Ethernet connectivity cable, a headset, a media remote, and a removable
20-GB hard drive.
For anyone who thought the original Xbox was a technological marvel, you must try
this out! As amazing and realistic as the play on the first Xbox was, the Xbox
360 makes its predecessor look tired and worn-out. Microsoft has rebuilt the Xbox
from the ground up. From the name to the look, from hardware to features, the
Xbox 360 is a radically different and more powerful machine than the original
Xbox. Far more than a video game console, the Xbox 360 is a total media center
that allows users to play games, network with other 360 owners; rip, stream and
download all types of media, including high-definition movies, music, digital
pictures and game content, as well as play DVD movies and audio CD's.
The Xbox 360 will revolutionize the gaming world. Microsoft has definitely set
the new standard in video game technology.

Carbohydrates, High Blood Sugars, Diabetes - know the connection?
There is a strong connection between carbohydrates, high blood sugars and
diabetes. Carbohydrates give your body the energy, or fuel, it needs to function

There are two types of carbohydrates; simple and complex. Simple carbohydrates
are in foods such as fruit sugar, corn or grape sugar and table sugar. They are
single-sugar molecules. Complex carbohydrates are the foods that contain three or
more linked sugars. So carbohydrates create blood sugars and that's where the
problems start for diabetics. Understanding more about the connection helps to
control your diabetes...
A Personal Experience
I am a diabetic type 2 and, at the moment, I control my blood sugars through
tablets and diet. Blood glucose control is extremely important for any diabetic -
it is the only way of minimising future health complications; heart disease;
neuropathy resulting in amputations; kidney disease and early death.
Four years ago my A1C sugar levels were starting to get out of control - they
weren't massively high but were creeping up. My Doctor increased my medication -
with no real satisfactory results, my blood sugars were all over the place; I
could go from a high reading at night and be woken by a hypoglaecemic (low blood
                                      Page 7

sugar) in the early hours.
Then I discovered the Atkins diet and, because I wanted to lose weight, I started
to follow the low carbohydrate, high protein menus.
That's when I discovered the real connection between complex carbohydrates, high
blood sugars and my diabetes. Suddenly my blood sugars stabilised and it was
because I was no longer piling in huge amounts of carbohydrate, which were
pushing my blood sugars far too high.
This seemed to fly in the face of conventional advice on the right diets -
complex carbohydrate rich - for diabetes. You see, I already understood I had to
avoid sweet, sugary food - these contained simple carbohydrates. I hadn't
realised that the more complex carbohydrate of bread, potato and cereals affected
my blood sugars as well.
But (there's always a 'but' isn't there?) the Atkins diet did not really suit me.
I had constant diarrhea which was stressful and debilitating. So I came off that
diet after 3-4 months and, of course, my blood sugars began to get out of control

But now I knew about the connection, all I needed to do was find the right
program for me that followed the low carbohydrate principle.
And just recently, whilst doing research for my diabetes website, I discovered a
program that suits me, and which I describe in more detail on my website for

My advice to any diabetic and pre-diabetic, do your research! Understand the
close connection between the complex carbohydrates you eat, how they affect your
blood sugars and how it can make it difficult to control your diabetes. Once you
understand that link, look for a diet or system that you can adapt to safely
bring your blood sugars back under control.

Do's and Don'ts Of Teaching Your Puppy Proper Socialization Skills
Teaching a puppy or a dog proper socialization skills is vital to the safety of
both your dog and other dogs and people with whom he comes into contact. A
properly socialized dog is a happy dog, and a joy to be around for both humans
and animals. A poorly socialized dog, or one with no socialization at all, is a
danger to other animals, other people and even his own family.

Socialization is best done when the puppy is as young as possible The
socialization lessons a young puppy learns are difficult to undo, and it is
important to remember that the socialization skills the puppy learns will affect
his behavior for the rest of his life.
A dog that is properly socialized will be neither frightened of nor aggressive
towards either animals or humans. A properly socialized dog will take each new
experience and stimulus in stride, and not become fearful or aggressive. Dogs
that are not properly socialized often bite because of fear, and such a dog can
become a hazard and a liability to the family who owns it. Improperly socialized
dogs are also unable to adapt to new situations. A routine matter like a trip to
the vets or to a friends house can quickly stress the dog out and lead to all
sorts of problems.
Socialization is best done when the puppy is very young, perhaps around 12 weeks
of age. Even after 12 weeks, however, it is important that the puppy continues
its socialization in order to refine the all important social skills. It is
possible to socialize an older puppy, but it is very difficult to achieve after
the all important 12 week period has passed.
There are so definite do's and don't when it comes to properly socializing any

                            proper socialization skill
puppy. Let's start with what to do. Later in this article we will explore what to

Socialization Do's
• Make each of the socialization events as pleasant and non-threatening
for the puppy as possible. If a puppy's first experience with any new experience
is an unpleasant one, it will be very difficult to undo that in the puppy's mind.
In some cases, an early trauma can morph into a phobia that can last for a
lifetime. It is better to take things slow and avoid having the puppy become
frightened or injured.
• Try inviting your friends over to meet the new puppy. It is important to
included as many different people as possible in the puppy's circle of
acquaintances, including men, women, children, adults, as well as people of many
diverse ethnic backgrounds and ages.
• Also invite friendly and healthy dogs and puppies over to meet your
puppy. It is important for the puppy to meet a wide variety of other animals,
including cats, hamsters, rabbits and other animals he is likely to meet. It is
of course important to make sure that all animals the puppy comes into contact
with have received all necessary vaccinations.
• Take the puppy to many different places, including shopping centers, pet
stores, parks, school playgrounds and on walks around the neighborhood. Try to
expose the puppy to places where they will be crowds of people and lots of
diverse activity going on.

• Take the puppy for frequent short rides in the car. During these rides,
be sure to stop the car once in a while and let the puppy look out the window at
the world outside.

• Introduce your puppy to a variety of items that may be unfamiliar. The
puppy should be exposed to common items like bags, boxes, vacuum cleaners,
umbrellas, hats, etc. that may be frightening to him. Allow and encourage the
puppy to explore these items and see that he has nothing to fear from them.
• Get the puppy used to a variety of objects by rearranging familiar ones.
Simply placing a chair upside down, or placing a table on its side, creates an
object that your puppy will perceive as totally new.
• Get the puppy used to common procedures like being brushed, bathed,
having the nails clipped, teeth cleaned, ears cleaned, etc. Your groomer and your
veterinarian with thank you for this.

• Introduce the puppy to common things around the house, such as stairs.
Also introduce the puppy to the collar and leash, so he will be comfortable with
these items.

Dating Regrets
We all laugh at everyone's dating disaster in some way. We all pretend to be very
saddened by the person's situation. But deep in our mind we are either snickering
or thinking "what if that happened to me?" That's why we just all laugh at those
dating disasters because it helps compensate the pain. Here is a list of dating
disasters or regrets that we could learn from.
1. Never date a married person. Dating a married person always guarantees
disaster. This relationship will always be about deceit, lies and cheating. The
unmarried party will also be led to expect something that could or might never
happen; which is being in a serious relationship with the married person. It
                                      Page 9
                            proper socialization skill
might also bother your conscience that you are destroying the life of the married
couple. This relationship or dating period will never ever work out and be fun.
It will always be filled with doubt.
2. Most people regret not settling down with their childhood sweetheart or 1st
love at college. They always believe that there will be more fish out there so
why settle down? There might be more fish out there but do they actually fit your
taste and personality. Compared to that proven fish that you have already
established with your childhood sweetheart or 1st college love. Some people who
didn't marry their childhood sweetheart will only think that they have settled
for 2nd best only. This will be unfair to the other party, because you will
always be thinking about that 1st love.
3. People always regret not taking the offer of the date when the offer was
there. People will always ask the "what if" question. Just imagine all the girls
who turned down Bill Gates now. Bottom line give the person a chance, it won't
hurt to have a sip of coffee for only 30 minutes. You might even find out you
might click.
4. People also regret not ending a really bad relationship earlier. There might
have been a time during the bad relationship that there was someone better who
would've wanted to be with you. But because you were in that bad relationship you
passed out on that other wonderful person. So if you think you're just not in the
right situation have the courage to end it.
These are the things that most people have regretted during their dating period.
In fact some of their regrets ended up in disastrous "what ifs?" Be wise, have
the balance of following your head and heart at the same time. Only you will know
what is right for you.

Simple Ways to Have Happy Experiences

Happiness is a 'now you feel it, now you don't' emotion. I know this from
personal experience and from hearing of the experiences of others. Sometimes I'm
very happy, other times, sad, joyful, contented, frustrated, and sometimes very

Several years ago I had no reference point for the word happy. I knew technically
the meaning of the word, however the experience eluded me. Joy I could do, happy
for some reason, no.
One day during a workshop the word happy was demonstrated to me with much
laughter from the audience. Now I not only get 'happy' but remember it also as a
fun experience.
There are many small things that can make me happy as well as give me endless
joy. I've listed seven simple ways toward experiencing a happy moment, but first
check you have a reference point to the word happy. Find out what happy really
means to you?
1. Remember or create a 'happy' moment. When you live the experience of
'happy' your mind and body will remember. Feel the happiness in all parts of you,
expand this feeling if need be. Practise this daily.

2. Access the Present moment. Notice what happens to you when you're totally
focussed on a comedy show on television, when you listen to light hearted music
or when you dance - even if it's on your own. I sometimes groove to a tune in my
office when no-one's looking – it makes me feel good, cool, gives me a break from
what I'm doing and I laugh at myself!
3. Invite friends over for some play time. Organise paper, crayons, paint,
and coloured pencils, whatever you can think of and do some drawings or

paintings. You could also ask each person to bring along a plate of food.
4. Spend time with nature, go for a walk down the beach or park; observe
wildlife in your area or visit a plant nursery. Notice your mood when amongst the
spirit of nature.

5. Take something with you that gives you great pleasure such as a book,
journal for writing or your MP3 player and sit and 'Be' under the canopies of
trees for a few hours.
6. Learn something totally new such as another language; pottery or painting
or start your meditation, personal or spiritual development program. You're only
ever limited by your own imagination.

7. Join a club or group that you have an interest in. You can then expand
your friendship base with other like-minded souls.
With any of the above activities assess what and how you're feeling as well as
where you feel the emotion and how much are you laughing, grinning, or smiling?
Remember them totally by living the experience and you will then be able to
recall this memory when you want to.

Include to memory your experience colours, smells, sounds and tastes – all the
better for remembering your happy time with.

Quiet time spent alone can open the door to the possibility of connection to that
most amazing and magical part of you that is your true self, the spirit within.

From my experience the key to a happy life begins with remembering who you are,
know what gives you enjoyment, be present, and know that regardless of your
circumstances no–one can take away your thoughts or dreams, they are yours to
keep for as long as you wish.

How To Make Money From Your Writing Skills

I am one of many people who have realised the many benefits that writing
articles can bring. Article marketing is now widely recognised as an excellent
way of promoting a website, however there are many more opportunities out there
to make money for the budding writer.

I just happened to stumble across the idea of writing articles around eight
months ago when I was discussing different forms of website promotion with a
friend of mine. I was looking at ways in which I could attract more visitors to
my own sites and he advised me to commence writing articles.
The advice was sound and I have not looked back since. Writing articles is a
superb way of gaining extra one-way backward links to your site and the readers
of each article are also potential visitors.
I attempt to write around seven articles per week which is not easy at times but
is something I am aware will help my sites.
In each article I try to give advice and attempt to make them enjoyable for any
potential reader.
There are other ways that people like myself, who enjoy to write can make money
from their skills.
Other people are also aware of the benefits of article marketing but just do not

have the time to write themselves. These people are always on the lookout for
somebody to help them out, somebody who will write and submit an article for
them. There are a number of websites where each writer can notify people of their
services and where other people can post a project that they would like to be

Other areas where people can earn additional cash from their skills is via
writing freelance for newspapers and magazines. If your skills are of a higher
enough quality and what you write is of interest to a wide audience, there is no
reason why you could not earn money in this way.
Writing has never been more in demand and now is the time for people who feel
that they have the gift to make the most out of this opportunity. There is a lot
of rubbish being written on the web at the moment and quality will always stand
Many people might argue that they are not well enough educated to be accepted as
a writer in certain quarters. This may well be correct for some people out there,
however if you do not try you will never know. Content is king as they say and if
your content is good enough and of interest, why would people have an issue with
your lack of examinations etc.
Ensure that your content is easy to read and that all of the words are spelt
correct. The world is your oyster, go for it.
