Haudenosaunee Promise Scholarship

To be eligible a student must:

      be an admitted first-year or transfer student;
      be a certified citizen of one of the historic Haudenosaunee nations (Mohawk,
       Oneida, Onondaga, Cayuga, Seneca, or Tuscarora);
      be a current resident of a listed Haudenosaunee nation territory;
      be in pursuit of his or her first bachelor’s degree;
      file for financial aid by published deadlines. You do not need to be a citizen of the
       United States or Canada to be eligible for the Promise; and
      maintain full-time academic status and a minimum 2.5 cumulative grade point
       average while at Syracuse University.

Provides a variety of treatment programs for chemically dependent Native American
men and women; services provided also for Native American individuals whose lives
have been impacted by the alcohol/drug use of a significant other.

Partridge House is a 24 hour residential program for Native
Americans with alcohol/chemical dependency problems. The length of the program is 8-
10 weeks.

Purpose: Ganondagan is a historical site of a Seneca village that flourished 300 years
ago. Ganondaga has different Native American cultural events throughout the year and
has a life size replica of a bark longhouse.

Purpose: The summer of 1993, at a public auction, 322 acres of riverfront land was
sold to a small group of traditional Mohawks who were ready to start a new home on old
soils. A small group of traditional Mohawks farm, cultivate, and preserve this land with
the hope that others will follow in their footsteps. The hope is to provide a place where
Mohawk people can revitalize their culture, tradition, language and spirituality.
Kanatsioareke is well recognized by other Haudenosaunee nations and Tom Porter is
well known traditional speaker throughout Haudenosaunee territory in the United States
and Canada.
