Summary • Olympic and Paralympic games are much more than just 4 weeks of sporting competition. • The Olympic agenda is massive and has the ability to engage and inspire all areas of society. • Important to see the bigger picture when planning for 2012, also important to plan for what happens after 2012 – Legacy • Need to be realistic in what we can offer and we can achieve, outcome focused. • Key to success is partnership working, understanding different agenda’s and agreeing a way forward to maximise 2012 opportunities to improve the quality of life for local people.
