					               Brain Awareness Week
                 March 9-13th, 2009
Join us in our biggest outreach event of the year!

Every year the Neuroscience Program (Project Brainstorm) hosts a five-day event
where hundreds of local K-12 students for Brain Awareness Week, in which kids
participate in hands-on activities about the brain.

This year, STEM-PLEDGE & Project Brainstorm is making BAW bigger &
better.
  1. We are increasing our numbers to 10
     different LAUSD Schools and 500
     students!
  2. We are focusing our outreach efforts
on Title 1 LAUSD junior and high
     schools, which have higher poverty
rates and need the most help.
  3. STEM-PLEDGE is adding activities in
which students can meet and talk to
     graduate students from similar
backgrounds to learn about the STEM
     fields.

We have 2 volunteer posts at a variety of 90 min timeslots/dates that we need all
                 active STEM-PLEDGE members to volunteer:

Help us make the event a success! Volunteer for at least one or more timeslots!
