Location: Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS), Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Cherry Point,
Salary: Minimum $120,000 per annum, negotiable based upon experience/qualifications

Tour of Duty: Monday through Friday
**Tour of duty may change based upon work requirements to include some nights and weekends**
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Serves as the Director/Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of
MCCS under the direction of the Commanding Officer, Marine Corps Air Station, Cherry Point. MCCS
encompasses diverse components such as retail, food & hospitality, clubs & catering, business services,
fitness, health promotions, recreation and a wide array of Marine & Family Programs and Support
Responsible, first and foremost, for leading by example; for shaping and sustaining a working
environment most condusive to the successful performance of those enstrusted to his/her leadership and
direction. The MCCS Director’s essential purpose and focus of effort is to create a positive atmosphere
and culture within Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS), Cherry Point that engenders and reflects
the pride, professionalism, sense of accomplishment, fulfillment, collaborative engagement, well-being,
high morale and wholehearted customer focus of its employees.
Responsible for developing MCCS business strategies, ensuring compliance with policies and
procedures, measuring the organization’s performance and correcting failing strategies. Responsible for
all aspects of fiscal activities, including development and administration of both operating and capital
budgets. Plans, reviews, interprets and implements policies established by higher authority. Resolves
financial, personnel and operaitonal challenges that impact the effectiveness of MCCS programs.
Represents the MCCS organization to members of Congress, members of the Cherry Point/Havelock
community, other organizations and other commands, to include Marine Corps Installations East and the
Personal and Family Readiness Division of Headquarters, United States Marine Corps on matters
concerning MCCS plans, programs and policies. Sets priorities and establishes methods and timeframes
for accomplishment of MCCS projects.
Promotes a climate of World Class Customer Service and ensures adherence to safety regulations and
Adheres to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention
of sexual harrassment.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS: A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university
with a concentration in business or finance is desired but not required with life business/executive
experience. A master’s degree in business or finance is desired. An applicant’s explanation of
equivalency of the above based on a different degree or applicable experience will be considered.
A minimum of five years of executive level experience that demonstrates possession of management
principles in planning, coordinating and attaining the goals and financial objectives of a large customer
oriented organization; a thorough knowledge of business practices, economic principles and ability to
analyze trends/developments and make improvements in operating programs through innovative
marketing , personnel management and retailing.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSA’S): KSA’s are the specific characteristics that candidates
must possess in order to perform the major duties of the postion. Qualified applicants will be evaluated

c. Ability to analyze trends/developments in the operating environment and to make
adjustments/improvements to MCCS programs.
d. Knowledge of Marine Corps organizations, staff procedures, culture and lifestyle.
e. Knowledge of MCCS programs and their applicable Nonappropriated and Appropriated Funding
f. Skill in oral and written communications and personal diplomacy, especially while interacting with
senior civilian and military officials.
