1 Introduction

The Purpose of this document is to:

    (1) Present th e currently available options of connectivity of Buildings at UAE to the Data Center of Vipul
Laing O’ Rourke Private Limited at Gurgaon, India.
    (2) Propose the future enhancements that can be implemented wh en the volume increases

This document should be initially referred by the Senior Management Team and later on passed on to the technical
team once the most preferred solution is established.

Etisalat is the oldest telecommunications company of UAE and hence the options herewith have been proposed
based on the offerings of this company. However, before actual closure of the deals, we should evaluate
commercials and feasibility of all other available service providers.

2 Option 1 – Business ADSL at every building (First Preference)

This option requires the following topology to be implemented:

    (a) A business ADSL connection at every building
    (b) A Cisco 800 series router with built in encryption engines
    (c) A fixed Internet enabled IP address at the WAN (ADSL) port of the router

The first two points of th e topology looks feasible as per the description provided by Etisalat under:

Business Services – BusinessOne – Intern et Broadband for Business

The third point (i.e., one fixed IP address at the WAN port) needs to be confirmed with Etisalat. Also, it needs to be
confirmed if there are other service providers who can offer this kind of service.

If feasibility of all the three points is confirmed, the connectivity per building will be established as under:

 A business ADSL connection shall be purchased at every building
 A Cisco 800 series ADSL router deployed at every building
 Encrypted tunnel established from the PIX firewall at India to the Cisco 800 series ADSL router between
one of the public IP addresses at India and the public IP at the ADSL port of the UAE end router.

The traffic would be invoked within the tunnel.

If a fixed IP address is not provided on the BusinessOne connection , then we should try to negotiate with Etisalat
for a customised solution having ADSL connectivity with at least one fixed IP. Also we should explore options of
getting routers on rent.

Cost Implications (as per Etisalat web site):

3 Option 2 – Internet Leased Line used as a common gateway (Second Preference)

This option would be considered if Business ADSL connections in UAE are not feasible for our application because
of:

    (a) Infeasibility in one of the three topology points above

Document File Name: Dubai_Connectivity_Solutions_for_Vipul-Laingorourke Version No.2.0 Page 4 of 8

                                  Information Security Service Management Framework

    (b) ISP not flexible to customise a solution of Business ADSL with a fixed IP address
    (c) Local permission or legal issues
    (d) Infeasibility of any kind at the addresses of the buildings

In option 2, we propose to buy an Internet Leased Line at one of th e buildings (we shall call it “gateway building”),
deploy a higher end router and connect other buildings (we shall call them “spoke buildings”) to this router via
local Leased Lines.

This option requires the following topology to be implemented:

    (a) An Internet Leased Lin e at on e of th e buildings (selected as the gateway building)
    (b) A Cisco 2800 series router deployed at th e building
    (c) Fixed Internet enabled IP address(es) at the router
    (d) Intra country Leased lines from other (spoke) buildings to the Cisco 2800 series router

All the points of the topology look feasible as per the description provided by Etisalat under:

Business Services – In ternet Leased – Internet Leased Line, and
Business Services – Leased Circuits

The connectivity in this case can be established as under:

 A 512 Kbps Internet Leased Line would be deployed at one of the buildings (selected as the gateway
          building)
 A Cisco 2800 series router deployed at th e gateway building
 Cisco 800 series routers deployed at other (spoke) buildings
 128 Kbps Local Leased Circuits deployed from the Cisco 800 series routers at spoke buildings to th e Cisco
2800 series router at the gateway building (wh ere Internet Leased Circuit is deployed ).
 Encrypted tunnel established from the PIX firewall at India to the Cisco 2800 series router between one of
the public IP addresses at India and th e public IP at the WAN port of the UAE end router.
 Traffic of the gateway building and spoke buildings routed to India via this encrypted tunnel

Buildings)

We should explore options of getting routers on rent.

4 Option 3 – Internet Leased Line used at every building (Last Preference)

This option should be the last option and should be considered because of:

    (a) Infeasibility in one of the topology points above
    (b) Local permission or legal issues
    (c) Infeasibility of any kind at the addresses of the buildings

In this option, we propose to buy an Internet Leased Line each at all the buildings.

This option requires the following topology to be implemented:

    (a) An Internet Leased Lin e each at all th e buildings
    (b) A Cisco 800 series router deployed each building
    (c) Fixed Internet enabled IP address(es) at the routers

All the points of the topology look feasible as per the description provided by Etisalat under:

Business Services – In ternet Leased – Internet Leased Line

The connectivity in this case can be established as under:

 A 256 Kbps Intern et Leased Line would be deployed at each building
 A Cisco 800 series router deployed at each building

 Encrypted tunnel established from the PIX firewall at India to th e Cisco 800 series router between on e of
the public IP addresses at India and th e public IP at the WAN port of the UAE end router.
 Traffic of all buildings routed to India via respective encrypted tunnels

We should explore options of getting routers on rent.

5 Toll Free Number at UAE

Etisalat offers toll free services at UAE. However, it is currently not verified how the toll free numbers at UAE
would be mapped with the Sify connectivity at India. A query has been invoked at Sify’s end in this perspective,
volume commitmen ts and cost. As soon as the query is solved, version 3.0 of this document would be published
with the details and the topology.
