Lexington, Kentucky, USA— Discover how professional coaching can enhance the quality of life for you or someone you
As January is International Quality of Life Month it is the perfect opportunity to start now! International Quality of Life
Month is a global recognition of the importance of a high quality of life that encompasses family, community, education,
work, finances, health, leisure and spirituality.
“Achievement of quality of life can come in many ways, and one path we know to be helpful is partnering with a
professional coach to address quality of life goals, such as career and finances; health and fitness; communication and
relationships; or work/life balance,” said 2010 ICF President Giovanna D’Alessio, MCC . “Coaching has been proven to
help people attain their personal and professional goals and this attainment can naturally translate to a higher quality of
In fact, the 2009 ICF Global Coaching Client Study, conducted by PricewaterhouseCoopers and Association Resource
Centre Inc., showed that coaching is having a positive impact in client’s goal areas, and even other areas that aren’t
primary objectives. Four in five respondents (80 percent) reported a positive change in self-esteem/self confidence as a
result of coaching*. The study showed that a significant majority of clients also experienced a positive impact in
relationships, communication skills, interpersonal skills, work performance, and work-life balance, as a result of partnering
with a professional coach.
With their goals being met through coaching, 83 percent of coaching clients surveyed reported they were “very satisfied”
with their coaching experience and an impressive 96 percent said they would repeat their coaching experience, given the
same circumstances which initially led them to a coach.
If you are looking to enhance your quality of life and are interested in partnering with a professional coach, visit the ICF

“International Quality of Life Month is a great time to start working on your personally relevant goals with a professional
coach,” D’Alessio concluded.
ICF defines coaching as partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to
maximize their personal and professional potential. Coaching is a distinct service and differs greatly from therapy,
consulting, mentoring or training. Individuals who engage in a coaching relationship can expect to experience fresh
perspectives on personal challenges and opportunities, enhanced thinking and decision-making skills, enhanced
interpersonal effectiveness, and increased confidence in carrying out their chosen work and life roles.
The International Coach Federation is the leading global organization for coaches, with over 15,700 members in more
than 90 countries, dedicated to advancing the coaching profession by setting high ethical standards, providing
independent certification, and building a worldwide network of credentialed coaches. The ICF is the only organization that
awards a global credential which is currently held by over 5,700 coaches worldwide. For more information on how to
