Free Throw Violations

Throw-in Violations
Offense
Thrower shall not leave the designated throw-in spot
• Exception: after a made basket
Thrower must pass the ball in 5 seconds Thrower must not step OVER the sideline/baseline Penalty: turnover
Defense
Opponent of the thrower may not cross the throw-in boundary
• Team warned on first offense
• Penalty: technical foul on subsequent offenses

Back-Court Violation
Teams have 10 seconds to cross the half-court line
