DISPLACED RESOURCE
WORKERS WANTED
The Prince George Snowmobile Club requires Displaced Resource Workers to work in the
Prince George area. Fieldwork will include the use of chainsaws, brush saws, pruning saws,
hand tools and chippers. This work is funded by the Job Opportunities Program (JOP) of the
Community Development Trust. Applicants must be British Columbia residents whose
primary occupation has been in forestry, fishing, agriculture, mining, or manufacturing. To be
selected for an interview, applicants must provide proof of:
Employment in a BC Resource Industry for at least 2 consecutive years as an employee
of a company, contractor, sub-contractor, or as an independent owner/operator
(record of employment preferred, layoff notices/contracts/correspondence/tax forms
acceptable).
Earnings of at least 65% from a BC Resource Industry during this time period.
Employment being impacted on or after May 1, 2007 due to permanent workforce
reduction, layoff for more than 4 months or resignation to create an opportunity for a
younger worker.
