October 2009 Meeting
October 26, 2009
Call to Order:
President Tim Cowper called the meeting to order at 7:17 PM. The October meeting was held at the Edinburg
Community center. Two guests were present, Mike Clukey and his friend Debbie.
The secretary indicated that the minutes for the September meeting are posted on the Website. Doug Sterling made a
motion to approve.
The treasurer reported that the balance of funds for the chapter remains the same as reported last month.
There was no correspondence.
There were no committee reports.
The Johnson fly-in was critiqued to identify best practices. Some of the things that came out included; identifications of
specific jobs, separation of control for ground parking and air traffic, better identification of aircraft parking locations,
assignment of jobs the night before, a briefing before the event,and a PA system for aircraft descriptions and cards for
It was mentioned that the chapter Christmas party will be held on December 6 at 2:00PM at the C&R restaurant.
Doug Sterling requested that everyone planning to attend should notify him or Judy
Larry Saupe asked for volunteers to pick out pictures for the chapter calendar. These pictures are posted on the
chapter’s website. Tim Cowper, John Peck and Dave Kowack offered to help with this task. Members with pictures of
chapter events should put them on the web site.
Election of chapter officers was conducted. The nominations are: Tim Devine for president, John Peck for vice
president, Daryl White for treasurer, and Pat Morris for Secretary. Since no opposing nominations were presented, the
Secretary cast one vote for the slate identified. Nominations for board members included Walt Kostuk, Fred Blowers,
Dave Kowack and Chris Brown. A secret ballot was conducted and two of the nominees were voted on. The nominees
receiving the highest number of votes were Roger Johnson and Fred Blowers. As past president, Tim Cowper is
automatically a board member.
A motion to adjourn was made by Chris Brown and Doug Sterling..
