AITP Three Year Vision for 2005-2008
Overview
The three year vision for AITP will consist of the following program areas: Membership Education Chapter Development Communications Marketing and Branding Operations This plan focuses on the following program initiatives.
Membership
Member Benefits - Additional member benefits will be added and existing member benefits will be actively promoted. AITP affiliates will be sought out that will provide content of interest to members and provide direct member benefits. Professional Member Retention - AITP will increase professional member retention to at least 72%. Professional Membership Growth - AITP will grow overall professional membership by at least 10% each year. Student Member Retention - AITP will increase student member retention to at least 35%. Student Membership Growth - AITP will grow overall student membership by at least 10% each year. Student Member Transitions - AITP will increase the number of interim members by at least 10% each year. Membership Demographics - AITP will learn more about member demographics. EDSIG Membership - Growth in this Special Interest Group will be at least 10% annually. New Special Interest Groups - AITP will facilitate the formation and structure of special interest groups, such as a SIG for Security, as interest is shown.

Education
Leadership Development - Programs focused on leadership training will be developed and promoted to all levels of Association leadership. Educational Publications - AITP will work with affiliates to provide content that will be distributed to members on a wide variety of topics. Partner Conferences - AITP will partner with existing high profile, vendor neutral conferences to provide members extended educational opportunities. Regional Conferences - AITP will help facilitate strong local and regional conferences. CCP Reviews and Examinations - AITP region and chapter leaders will perform CCP reviews and conduct examinations. Online Conferences - AITP will use emerging technologies to foster conferences that allow members and leaders to share experiences through a virtual interface provided to the members. National Collegiate Conference - The AITP NCC will continue to be a dominant annual collegiate conference and will grow at least 10% annually and generate revenue for the organization. New Student Chapter Development - AITP will strive to have a student chapter at the top 200 college/universities in the US News & World Report ranking. AITP will increase the number of student chapters by at least 5% annually. New Professional Chapter Development - AITP will strive to have professional chapters in the top 200 Metropolitan Statistical Areas in the United States. AITP will increase the number of professional chapters by at least 5% annually. Promotional Materials - AITP will provide an extensive array of promotional materials for chapters to use to promote themselves, including: o Posters and Flyers o Written and Electronic Kits o Powerpoint Infomercials o Exhibit Displays Benefits of Membership Materials - Chapters will have easy access to materials that allow them to promote the 'Benefits of Membership'. Chapter Leader Information Sharing - Chapter leaders will share best practices and operational ideas. Roles and Responsibilities Defined - The roles and responsibilities of AITP leadership will be clearly defined and complement AITP's vision. Revised Awards Program - AITP will revise awards programs to be more relevant to today's IT professionals, chapters and regions.

Communications
AITP Three Year Vision for 2005-2008
National, Regional and Local Press Coverage - AITP will strive to gain the attention of the media outlets - newspaper, radio, television, web based and trade publications. Information Executive / Nanosecond - AITP will increase the level of content in our newsletters to include: o Educational articles o Selected member benefit o Association articles o Region articles from all regions o Chapter articles from all over the country Legislative Advocacy - AITP will continue to be active in IT legislation at the Federal and State level. CCP Licensing Standard - AITP will actively work to promote the CCP as the state licensing standard of IT professionals. Online Discussion Groups - Discussion forums will allow members to gain knowledge and solve business problems. Research Publications - AITP will publish the results of at least one major research project annually.
Marketing and Branding
AITP Visibility and Awareness - AITP will strive to become nationally recognized by IT professionals as the association of choice for IT career advancement. Certification Groups Awareness - Relationships with the major certification groups will be strengthened. Awareness in Partner Communications - AITP will strive to be featured in the communications of our major affiliates, such as FedExKinkos, Gartner, Microsoft, and Culminis. Marketing Programs - AITP will manage an effective marketing program that will attract and retain members and affiliates. Financial Ratios - AITP financial ratios will mirror the averages of similar size professional trade associations. Non-Dues Revenue - AITP will actively seek additional methods of revenue from the sale of partnered goods or services. Chapter and Region Services - Services will be provided to chapters and regions to enable AITP growth and prosperity like: o Event registration o Event planning o Marketing and media relations o Chapter revitalization o Chapter start up assistance Leader Performance - The Association will facilitate leaders to perform at the highest productivity standards. Annual goals will be set for each area and leaders will be expected to meet these goals. 3
