The University of Dayton is a comprehensive Catholic

Role of the Board of Trustees

       Promote the purposes of University of
        Dayton and ensure a clear understanding of
        the mission
       Exercise policy making role by reviewing,
        approving and amending policies
       Select, nurture, and evaluate the President
        and other Executive Officers
       Enhance quality of University programs
Role of the Board of Trustees

       Ensure financial management of human and
        financial resources
       Develop sound relationship between itself
        and University community
       Court of final appeal on major grievances
       Serve as a link between University and
        constituencies

       Provide leadership and support University
        fundraising efforts
       Organize and renew itself in orderly fashion

        – Responsible for the oversight of the academic
          and research areas of the University and for
          recommending the appropriate standards and
          policies

      Athletics Committee
       – Responsible for reviewing the strategic issues of
         the Athletic division

      Audit Committee
       – Responsible for the audit of the University
         financial statements and the work of the external
         and internal auditors

       – Responsible for seeking suitable candidates for
         Board membership and for assisting in the
         continuing education of the trustees

      Executive Committee
       – Directs the board of Trustees and acts for the
         Board between regular meetings (Elected)

       Facilities Committee
        – Responsible for the policies on the maintenance
          and operation of the University and for
          reviewing the long term plan for University
          facilities

       Finance Committee
        – Responsible for those areas related to the fiscal
          operations of the University including the
          University of Budget

      Investment Committee
       – Responsible for the stewardship of the
         University’s monetary and related marketable
         assets

      Mission and Identity Committee
       – Responsible for reviewing the relationship
         between the stated character, purposes, and
         objectives of the University and current
         University activities

       Student Life Committee
        – Responsible for oversight of all issues non-
          academic student life under the administrative
          responsibility of the division of Student
          Development and the office of Campus Ministry
Role of the Board of Trustees


      University Advancement Committee
       – Responsible for the oversight of the
         advancement of University through strategic
         marketing, fundraising, public relations, and
         alumni relations
