Michigan First Credit Union Kicks Off Second Annual ‘Holiday Brights’ to Spread
Holiday Spirit and Give Back to the Community
‘Holiday Brights’ to feature family-friendly festivities while supporting community nonprofits
LATHRUP VILLAGE, Mich. – Dec. 1, 2008 – Michigan First Credit Union (www.michiganfirst.com) is
kicking off its second annual “Holiday Brights,” a month-long event celebrating the holiday season, this
week at its Lathrup Village headquarters. The festivities will include activities for the whole family to
enjoy, including an Arts & Crafts Holiday Bazaar, a special Santa Day, American Red Cross blood drive
and American Red Cross Blanket Days.

The Arts & Crafts Holiday Bazaar: Attendees are invited to shop for holiday gifts at the bazaar,
where hand-made crafts and specialty gifts from nearly 40 local artists will be displayed. The
bazaar will be open to the public on Thursday, Dec. 4 from 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. and on Friday,
Dec. 5 from 10 a.m. - 8 p.m.
Santa Day: Little ones can visit and get their pictures taken with Santa Clause for $3 each or two
for $5 and see his live reindeer, clowns, face painters and a magician on Saturday, Dec. 13 from
10 a.m.- 3 p.m. By bringing in a new twin-size blanket on Santa Day, visitors will also be eligible
to enter a drawing for a $100 gift card. The winner will be notified on Dec. 15.
American Red Cross blood drive: Attendees are invited to donate blood to support local blood
banks on Wednesday, Dec. 17 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Pre-register for the drive at www.givelife.org;

American Red Cross Blanket Days: Michigan First’s Evergreen, Gratiot, New Center, Wayne &
Wyoming branch locations will accept new twin-size blankets on behalf of the American Red
Cross Blanket Days for the Homeless campaign.
Proceeds from the Arts & Crafts Holiday Bazaar artist booth rentals will be donated to The Heat And
Warmth Fund (www.thawfund.org), a Detroit non-profit to help families stay warm this winter.
Donations will also be made on behalf of each new member who joins during the month of December.
Last year’s “Holiday Brights” also donated to THAW.
