									                Enrique Washington, Generator Group, Partner

One of three partners at the Generator Group, Enrique Washington is responsible for
attracting new business to the executive search firm, both in the consumer products
and technology practice areas. He also manages existing accounts to ensure
Generator clients receive the level of service they need.

Enrique has played a prominent role in evolving the Generator Group into a leading-
edge executive search firm. Generator Group was the 2005 winner of the Oregon &
Southwest Washington Better Business Bureau Customer Service Award and has
been recognized by the Portland Business Journal as one of the Top 100 Fastest
growing private companies in Oregon. Among Enrique’s accomplishments have been
to help the Generator Group establish a strong presence in the consumer products
arena by winning prominent clients such as: Adidas, Brooks Running, Hanesbrands,
Hanna Andersson, Horny Toad, LaCrosse/Danner Footwear, Keen Footwear, New
Balance, Reebok, Timberland, Umbro, and Yakima Products.

Before joining the Generator Group, Enrique spent 14 years working in human
resources and recruiting for companies such as Mentor Graphics, Nike, Pixelworks,
FLIR Systems and New Edge Networks. At Mentor Graphics, Enrique was responsible
for recruiting employees in the technical, operational, administrative and legal areas
of the organization. At Nike, Enrique hired footwear developers, footwear designers,
product engineers and other specialists to staff Nike’s footwear division. While at
Nike, Enrique was one of the first recruiters to introduce the concept of Internet
recruiting into the organization. He also trained Nike executives and hiring managers
on how to interview for success.

In 2006, he received the “40 under 40” award by the Portland Business Journal for
his work and accomplishments in the Portland business and local community. Enrique
has been recognized as one of the top minority recruiters nationwide by US Black
Engineer Magazine. He has also been featured in Diversity/Careers in Engineering
and Information Technology Magazine for his work helping Mentor Graphics build a
recruiting strategy designed to hire diverse talent. Enrique has been featured or
quoted in several other publications including Fortune Magazine, HR Magazine and
the Portland Business Journal.

In addition to serving on the board of Big City Mountaineers, Enrique serves on the
board of Answer to Cancer, an Oregon-based non-profit that raises money to fight
liver cancer. He also founded the Major Taylor Foundation in 1999 to help expose
youth to the story of Major Taylor, a prominent African-American cyclist and social
activist in the early 1900s.

Enrique participated in the 1995 Olympic Festival Track Field Team, being named a
Track Field All American while in college. He received a bachelor’s degree in
marketing and a master’s degree in corporate and public communication, both from
Seton Hall University in New Jersey.

Enrique teaches recruiting, selection, and human resources management to
undergraduate and graduate students at Portland State University. He also teaches
recruitment and selection courses to human resources professional in the Portland
State University Development Center Program. Additionally, he has also taught
career planning courses at Clackamas Community College.
