TOWNSHIP OF MOORESTOWN RESOLUTION 37-2005 A RESOLUTION SETTING THE ANNUAL MEETING SCHEDULE OF THE TOWNSHIP COUNCIL OF THE TOWNSHIP OF MOORESTOWN FOR 2005 WHEREAS, the Township Council of the Township of Moorestown adopted Resolution 164-2004 setting forth the Annual Meeting Schedule on November 15, 2004; and WHEREAS, the Township Council wishes to make changes to those meeting dates and procedures previously adopted; and WHEREAS, the "Open Public Meetings Act," Chapter 231, P.L. 1975, requires adequate notice of meetings of public bodies as defined therein; and WHEREAS, said act also requires notice of the schedule of annual meetings of said bodies. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the following shall set forth the meeting schedule for the year 2005: 1. The Reorganization Meeting of the Township Council for the year 2005 will be held in the Council Chamber in the Moorestown Township Town Hall, 111 West Second Street, Moorestown, New Jersey at 8:00 p.m. on January 3, 2005. 2. Thereafter, during the year 2005, the Moorestown Township Council shall meet in the Moorestown Township Town Hall, 111 West Second Street, Moorestown, New Jersey, on the first, second, third and fourth Mondays of each month at 7:30 P.M. No meetings are held on the fifth Monday, in months that contain five Mondays, except, in the month of October and under special meeting conditions. 2a. During the month of June and October, one meeting will be held on Wednesday. The time and location shall be in accord with the other regular meetings of the Township Council. The dates shall be listed on the Annual Meeting Notice. 3. Those meetings referred to on the Township Council Meeting Schedule, attached hereto, as “Worksession” meetings will be conducted in the Second Floor Council Chambers at 7:30 p.m. Council reserves the right to hold Worksession meetings in the Second Floor Conference Room as long as adequate notice to the public is posted on the evening of the meeting. 4. Those meetings referred to on the Township Council Meeting Schedule, attached hereto as “Official Action” meetings will begin in the Second Floor Council Chamber at 7:30 p.m. with “Informal Discussion.” Official Action is not taken during the “Informal Discussion” portion of the meeting. The official action portion of the meeting will then convene in the Council Chamber at 8:00 p.m., at which time “Official Action” by Council may be taken. Upon conclusion of the “Official Action” portion of the meeting, Council may continue its “Informal Discussion” regarding current issues, possible future official action to be taken, or adoption of a resolution to enter into executive session, if necessary. Council reserves the right to continue the Informal Discussion in the Second Floor Conference Room after the Official Action portion of the meeting as long as adequate notice to the public is posted on the evening of the meeting. 5. Due to holidays and the summer schedule, regularly scheduled meetings of the Township Council, as cited above, will not be held on the following dates: January 17, 2005 February 21, 2005 March 28, 2005 June 6 and 13 July 4 and 18 August 1 and 15 September 5, 2005 (ML King’s Birthday) (President’s Day) (Easter Monday) (Summer Schedule) (Summer Schedule) (Summer Schedule) (Labor Day) October 3, 2005 October 10, 2005 October 17, 2005 November 7, 2005 November 21, 2005 December 19, 2004 December 26, 2005 (Rosh Hashanah) (Columbus Day) (Sukkot) (Election Eve) (Thanksgiving Week) (Christmas Week) (Holiday Season) 6. A Dinner Meeting will be held at 6 p.m. on the first Monday, May 2, 2005, at a location yet to be determined to honor Board and Committee members. 7. Special Meetings of Township Council may be called by the Mayor; three or more members of Council; or the Township Manager. 8. In addition to the foregoing, a special meeting may be called by the Mayor, at any time, with such notification to Councilmembers, the Township Clerk, and the public, in accordance with law, as the Mayor shall deem appropriate; and such meeting shall be a proper and valid meeting provided four members of the Council are in attendance at the start of the meeting and an affirmative vote of four members of Council is taken that the meeting may be held. 9. Notice of a special meeting shall be delivered to the residence of each Councilmember and the Office of the Township Clerk at least 48 hours prior to the time of the special meeting. Notice shall also be given to the public in accordance with law. 10. Twenty-One Dollars ($21), or 1.75 per month, is hereby determined to be the sum to be charged for copies of Township Council meeting notices and agendas, provided for in Section C. 10-4-19 of Chapter 231 P.L. 1975; however, notices requested by the news media shall be mailed to such news media free of charge. 10. The Notice of Annual Meetings and Township Council Schedule of Meetings for the year 2005 is annexed hereto and the Township Clerk is directed to post, mail and file said notice and schedule as required by law. The Township Clerk shall also prepare, post, mail, file and maintain all other notices required by the State of New Jersey Open Public Meetings Act, Chapter 231, P.L. 1975. 11.
