Like a lot of people, I wanted to recreate my first male champion, Ch. Kulta Kokko Firebird of RT. He was also the first Finnish Spitz that I finished. So many things made him special, like his gorgeous bright coat, beautiful head, ears and tail. He also moved reasonably well. But he also had this hard to describe quality, a kind of quiet dignity and majestic lion quality, his eyes understood all and I felt like he could look into your soul. He had so many other qualities that really made me want to recreate him in his offspring. Kokko produced nine litters and over the years we kept a few but we never seemed to get the one male that was just like him. He seemed to produce very nice females, so we kept a line going from him through the girls. On our fifth generation, we got “Leelou”, Ch. Royaltouch’s Fifth Element. We knew we wanted to find the perfect male to use with her. Finally, with much thought and many years to think about pedigrees, we decided on Multi BIS/BISS Ch. Pikkinokka’s Foxmont Blueprint, “Prints”. Kelli Alseth, his owner, was very gracious and let us use him. Thank you Kelli! By breeding to Prints, I was able to bring in Can. Ch. Jayenn’s Vivacious Vappo, the litter sister to Kokko’s sire, Ch. Jayenn’s Vulcan, which produced a linebreeding on Can. Ch. Cullabine Tarik & Can. Ch. Jayenn’s Nordic Nymph. We also brought in a linebreeding on Can. & FSCA Ch. Jayenn’s Firebrand Finn. From this one try using fresh cooled semen and AI, we got five pups - four girls and only one male. This male is Ch. Royaltouch’s Prints of Valor, “Entei”. So far to date, this is Prints’ only litter. Not only does Entei look just like Kokko, he has the very same hard to describe qualities I was looking for so long. The same quiet dignity, the same majestic spirit and best of all, I have my best friend again.
