The Manager will be responsible for ensuring the successful operation of ecommerce
applications in a high availability web delivery environment while working closely with
software development and other teams to facilitate new releases, technical improvements
and operational implementation processes. This is a “hands on” role and in addition to
some supervisory responsibilities.
Maintains operating environment for the application Infrastructure services platform.
Proactive management and monitoring of the application infrastructure
Cont rols change management activities for all dat a center components to include scheduling
and performing maintenance window system changes, personnel management, infrastructure
patches / fixes, customer notific ation and change management process development and
Responsible for organizing, creation and maint enance of the computer operations
Supports higher levels of management in data center planning and expansion to include
selection of geographically dispersed locations, redundancy solutions, l oad-balancing
technology and data replication.
Works in conjunction wit h internal business units to coordinate all customer requests and
problem reports to closure.
Creation of IT processes or providing input to process improvement projects required
Responsible for developing and rolling out IT processes and methodology
Development, implementation, and monitoring of K ey Performance Indicators (KP I) and
Service Level Agreements (SLA )
Works with internal customers and other IT members to create internal SLA’ s
Must be able to give clear direction and delegate accountability across the team
Responsible for recruiting, hiring, training, evaluating and developing staff in all areas of
responsibility as well as managing staff performance both negative and positive.
Design and maintain DR plans for identified systems
Other duties and projects as assigned.
Minimum 8 years related professional experience, including 5+ years progressive
responsibility for management of IT operations functions within an ecommerce or web hosting
environment, including experience in managing and directing a highly skilled engineering
Must have expert knowledge of ecommerce or website hosting, DNS, CDN and or related
Must have expert knowledge of database architectures, .NET application servers, IIS Web
Servers and Internet Security (PCI experience a plus).
Must be highly skilled with automat ed code deployment (build management ) technologies
Must be highly skilled with application monitoring technologies and techniques.
Ability to instill confidence in clients; able to solve their problems and issues while keeping
the goals of IT, the project and OT in mind
Knowledge of Microsoft Web development tools and technology a plus.
Experience with web based technologies to include: load balancing, IIS web server farms and
other related technologies.
Experience with Windows Server, Net work and SAN technologies, including high availability
operations, product selection and high -level architecture.
Experience in resource management and reporting. This will include Expense and Capital
budgets, system and staff planning.
Formal project management training a plus.
Experience with ITIL or other established Information Tec hnology methodology required
B.S. degree in computer science, engineering or relat ed field preferred
