					                STEPS TO PLAY IN THE TENNESSEE QUALIFIERS:
Step 1: Go on line at www.aaugirlsbasketball.org to get your club number. Pick “join AAU” and
follow directions.
         Print a copy for your records.

Step 2: Fill out one “official tournament entry form” for each team you wish to enter into the
tournament. Mail the form(s) with a $250.00 entry fee (must be cashier’s check or a money order)
to:

        14-16’s Entry Deadline                    March 16, 2007
        Draw                                      March 18, 2007 (10:00 CST)

         Sub-State Dates                          March 29, 2007 – April 22, 2007

       Remember it sometimes takes longer to get our mail so you can do one of the
following: UPS, FED-EX, DHL, or overnight. Late entries will not be accepted.
Allow enough time for it to get here.
                 (Please note that NO ROSTERS OR BIRTH CERTIFICATES ARE REQUIRED
                 TO ENTER THE TOURNAMENT. THESE ARE SENT LATER TO YOUR SUB-
                 STATE DIRECTOR OR
                 IF YOU HAVE A 9 UNDER TEAM THEY ARE SENT TO THE STATE
                 DIRECTOR.)

Step 3: One week prior to the first game in your age group in your sub-state, your official roster and
        all birth
        certificates are due to your sub-state director. Two rosters must be filled out on the front
        and the back.
        The coaches and athletes must sign them, but only in one place on the back. The AAU card
        numbers must
        be on the roster. (You can purchase and print your cards from the same site,
        www.aaugirlsbasketball.org.
        Birth certificates must be a copy of the original with the seal visible. NO MOTHER’S
        COPY OR HOSPITAL COPY WILL BE ACCEPTED. If your athlete was born in the state
        of Tennessee, a copy
        of her birth certificate can be obtained from 90% of the local health departments by the
        mother, father,
        or by the athlete herself. .

        (A word of advice: As soon as you have your team together, send your roster and birth
        certificates
        to your sub-state director. Don’t wait until the last minute or problems cannot be corrected
        which may
        result in an athlete being declared ineligible. You cannot fax your rosters and birth
        certificates; they must
        be mailed, over night or sent by UPS or FED-EX, DHL, or Air-Born Express.

       KEEP COPIES OF EVERYTHING FOR YOUR RECORDS.

    YOU MUST HAVE YOUR CLUB NUMBER ON ENTRY FORM WHEN YOU MAIL
    IT TO THE CHAIRMAN !!!!!! NO NUMBER ON ENTRY FORM MEANS YOU WILL
    NOT BE DRAWN INTO THE TOURNAMENT. ORDER YOUR CLUB NUMBER
    NOW!!!!!

    IMPORTANT: Should any of your athletes be injured during the tournament, you MUST
    report the injury to the tournament director. Please do this whether the injury is major or
    minor. We are required to have this information by the AAU’s insurance carrier.

    The uniform number shall be at least 6 inches high on the back and at least 4 inches high on
    the front and not less than 3/4inch width.
    Starting with the 2007 season, require teams participating to have two uniform tops, one of
    which must be WHITE.

    Team shirts shall be of the same solid color front and back. Team shorts shall be alike;
    undershirts AND SPORTS BRAS are considered to be part of the exterior shirt and must be
    a color similar to the shirt. Tights that extend below the shorts are likewise considered part
    of the shorts and must be the same color.
    The term “All-Star” is not allowed on an AAU uniform.

    No more than two identifying names or abbreviations of the names may be placed on either,
    or on both, the front and back of the shirt. The name(s) must conform to the following:
    Placement must be such that the number(s) is clearly visible.
.   Each player shall be numbered on the front and back of the shirt with plain Arabic
    numerals.
    The following numbers are legal: 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 00, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24,
    25, 30, 31, 32, 33, 34, 35, 40, 41, 42, 43, 44, 45, 50, 51, 52, 53, 54, 55. (But double zero 00 and
    zero 0 cannot both be used for the same team)

    I realize that some of your players may have conflicts with other activities.
    The games have been scheduled so that they will miss little or no school. No
    game times will be changed as we will be running on a very tight schedule.
    Also, please be on time for your games. You should allow for heavy traffic,
    breakdowns, and all those things that could make you late.

    If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me. I would rather answer
    100 questions now than to have one girl declared ineligible or one team forfeit a
