Animal Control Introduces Online Missing Animal Report
The City’s website now has a link to an online Lost Animal Report where all animals captured by Animal Control are logged on a daily basis. The online report is a .pdf document that includes information such as census area, where the animal was taken into custody, description, breed, color, sex, date of impoundment, address, disposition and case number.
For more information, call the Parks and Recreation Department at 378-9391 or check out our website at www.amarilloparks.org
This Lost Animal Report is a new feature to the City’s website and its goal is to assist pet owners locating their missing pets. Those interested in viewing the report may go to www. ci.amarillo.tx.us and click on the Animal Control link and then click on the Lost Animal Report. Please remember that the Lost Animal Report is not an exact depiction of the animals impounded. Those with missing animals should always check each day on-site to ensure their animal is not impounded at the shelter.
The online report will be updated at 2:00 a.m. Monday through Friday. The report for animals captured on Saturday and Sunday will be updated by each Tuesday at 2:00 a.m.

THE ROCK & THE RABBI is a new musical based on the life of Peter the fisherman and Jesus of Nazareth. A contemporary treatment of the Biblical story, THE ROCK & THE RABBI is a combination of storytelling and acoustic music. Intimate and emotional, funny and thrilling, the show tells the classic tale of friendship and betrayal as well as forgiveness and reconciliation.
The City of Amarillo is in the process of striping various streets with bicycle lanes. The new lanes are a part of the Hike and Bike Master Plan that was approved by the Amarillo City Commission in 2003. The purpose of the Hike and Bike Master Plan is to establish a system of multi-use routes (bicycle, jogging and walking) for neighborhoods in the City of Amarillo. The bike route section of the master plan will be implemented over a 4-year period with 2005 being the first year. The route will connect residential neighborhoods to elementary schools, parks and the Rock Island Rail Trail. During 2005, bicycle routes will be striped on various streets to connect residential neighborhoods to the Rock Island Rail Trail and the following elementary schools: Sleepy Hollow, Puckett, Ridgecrest, Olsen, Belmar and Avondale. Please contact Harold McDaniel in the Traffic Engineering Department at 3784219 if you have questions or would like more information on the City Hike and Bike Master Plan.
