FY 2007 Project Safe Neighborhoods Grant Awards
Led by the 94 U.S. Attorneys throughout the country, Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN) is a comprehensive initiative to reduce gun
crime in America by bringing together resources from the local, state and federal levels. The goal is to create safer neighborhoods by
reducing gun violence and then sustaining the reduction. The Project Safe Neighborhoods is led by the U.S. Attorneys Office in the
Northern District of Oklahoma. The Oklahoma District Attorneys Council serves as the fiscal agent. The following programs were
funded in the U.S. Attorney for the Northern District, U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District, and U.S. Attorney for the Western District.
U.S. Attorneys Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma

District 19 District Attorneys Office Durant $73,107.00
Grant funds will be used to provide the salary and benefits for a full-time investigator who will be assigned to spearhead the “Dirty
Thirty” Gang and Firearm Related Task Force, along with the coordinating an educational program designed to generate community
awareness regarding gang, drug and violent crime activity operating within the Eastern District of Oklahoma.
U.S. Attorneys Office for the Northern District of Oklahoma

Tulsa County Sheriff’s Office Tulsa $69,796.00
Grant funds will be used provide the salary and benefits for a full time Tulsa County Sheriffs Deputy who will provide assistance to the
Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (BATFE) to actively pursue gun crime in the Tulsa County area. The goal of the
project is to increase successful investigations and prosecutions of gun crimes in Tulsa County.
District 14 District Attorney’s Office Tulsa $22,894.00
Grant funds will be used to provide the salary and benefits of a Media Outreach Director. The Director will be responsible for working
with local schools, law enforcement, and community organizations to educate the public and at-risk youth about the consequences of

Grant funds will be used to provide salary and benefits for a full-time Assistant District Attorney that will prosecute gun crimes in Payne

Grant funds will be used to provide salary and benefits for a full-time Assistant District Attorney that will coordinate activities with
local law enforcement and federal agencies to provide strategic planning for targeting, detecting, arresting, and prosecuting repeat
