January 22, 2008 INCREDIBLE INTERNET AUTHOR SPEAKS AT HIGH SCHOOL – DISCUSSES INTERNET SAFETY
Leebow, visit to MHS scheduled for Jan. 28 at 6:30 p.m.
Marietta, GA– On Monday, Jan. 28, Ken Leebow, author of the best-selling book series 300 Incredible Things to Do on the Internet, will speak to Marietta High School (MHS) parents about Online Safety. Leebow is the guest speaker at the MHS Parent-Teacher-Student Association (PTSA) meeting at 6:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. “Our PTSA is very active at MHS, and we are proud of the work they do to keep parents engaged in student achievement,” said MHS Principal Leigh Colburn. “This is a great opportunity for our parents to build their understanding of Internet safety practices.” Leebow’s presentation at MHS will help parents to understand social networking sites such as FaceBook and MySpace, and will assist parents in crossing the “digital divide”. He will also discuss the future of the Internet and Web sites that parents should know more about. Newsweek’s 2007 list of America’s Best High Schools named Marietta High School one of the best high schools in the nation, ranking it among the Top 5% (863 out of the Top 1200) of all high schools in America for the second year in a row. Marietta High School is located at 1171 Whitlock Avenue in Marietta.
