*Please note that this is a sample agreement. Please consult your own attorney to obtain an agreement that meets your own
needs. Among the issues such an agreement might address that are not included in this sample agreement are: the children
and dependents of the parties, the disposition of the parties' separate and shared property upon the death of either party, the
debts or liabilities incurred by the parties prior to or during their domestic partnership (except through their obligation of
joint support), and the provision of support for either party after the termination of the domestic partnership. The minimum
requirements that a domestic partnership agreement must contain to make the non-employee domestic partner eligible to
receive benefits through Michigan State University are that it must obligate each of the parties to provide support for one
another, and that it must provide for the substantially equal division, upon termination of the domestic partnership, of their
earnings during the domestic partnership and any property acquired with those earnings.
