Meeting held with senior representatives of West Park Health Care Centre who wanted to review their Strategic
Plan and the services they provide to the citizens they support within the Central West LHIN.

Headwaters Health Care Centre – Peer Review                                                                         Ongoing discussions

Ongoing discussions and meetings with Dr. Kevin Smith of St. Joseph’s Health Centre in Hamilton who is leading
the Peer Review of Headwaters Health Care Centre.

Meeting held with the Editors of the Brampton Guardian and the South Asian Focus for the purpose of updating on
the activities of the Central West LHIN’s health systems plan and the ongoing activities of the Central West LHIN
Task Force.

Interview with University of Ottawa Research Team

Participated in a major research project on mentorship for the University of Ottawa’s Research Team. Was
selected to be interviewed as a result of the extent to which I have been involved in mentoring students and
assisting with career development over the past several years.

JPPC – Webcast re Hospital Service Accountability Agreement (H-SAA) Template Review

Ongoing meetings to plan for the upcoming Joint Policy and Planning Committee’s (JPPC) Board Webcast on the
Hospital Service Accountability Agreement (H-SAA) to be held for all LHIN Boards on January 21, 2008.

Electronic support of smaller ICU’s at a distance has been demonstrated in numerous jurisdictions to enhance the
outcome of critically ill patients in the smaller site that would not otherwise have access to Intensivist coverage
24/7.

The Ontario Telehealth Network has vast infrastructure networks covering more than half of Ontario’s remote
hospital locations and is able to provide real-time patient audio-video links from the bedside.

Recently presented to this group on Access and Wait Times in the LHINs.
Francophone Teleconference re Local Planning Entities                                                                 Regular meetings of this

As the LHIN CEO representative on planning activities for the French Language Services local regulations
development, attended a meeting which focused on the process for community engagement activities and advice
on regulations.

Meeting with Med/Emerg

Meeting was held with Dr. Zacharias, CEO and Dr. Don Ross, V-P Business Development of Med/Emerg.
Med/Emerg is a health solutions provider to Ontario hospitals and currently provides emergency physician services
to over 25 hospitals in Ontario, community-based infusion services, community-based chronic pain management
centres and health services consulting. They work closely with the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care and
HealthForceOntario to optimize access to Emergency Department services across the province by investigating,
developing and implementing system level, strategic solutions to many health care system challenges.

The Meeting focused on the health needs of the LHIN, some of the strategic solutions that Med/Emerg is working
on with the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care and how Med/Emerg works with Ontario hospitals to provide
emergency departments and hospital-wide staffing solutions.

Recently appointed as the LHIN CEO representative on the Interprofessional Care Committee.

Initial meeting held with Dr. Peeter Poldre of the IPC to look at Interprofessional Care models and interprofessional
education as a way of moving towards transformation of clinical care. This initial meeting was an orientation to this
provincial-wide committee.
Meeting with Central West LHIN Emergency Department Lead and Dr. Mohammed, Chief of Emergency
(Brampton Civic Hospital)

Meeting held with Dr. Asim Masood, Emergency Department Lead for the Central West LHIN and Dr. Mohammed,
Chief of Emergency, to discuss the current pressures and gridlock situation facing the Emergency Department at
the Brampton Civic Hospital.
