In the past year, 155 journals added to MEDLINE. Nearly 5,000 journals are now being indexed. Space Life Sciences citations again being added after nearly a year’s hiatus due to contracting dispute.

Number of changes and improvements this past year, here are the highlights:
PubMed Action bar redesigned. Selections from the Display format, Show, Sort by, or Send to menus take effect immediately. Tab format introduced for options such as Limits, History, as well as for the results section. A default filter for the publication type, Review, was added for all users.
A spell-checking feature was added to suggest alternative spellings for PubMed search terms.
MyNCBI
Cubby has been changed to MyNCBI, providing automatic e-mailing of search updates and filters to group your retrieval by areas of interest
Additional Enhancements
PubMed’s translation of searches that include MeSH entry terms was enhanced, augmenting retrieval of non-MEDLINE citations. Clinical Queries page redesigned to provide an improved interface. New Special Queries page, directory of topic-specific PubMed queries, created.

Hovering mouse over the MEDLINE journal abbreviation displays the full journal name. Supplementary Concept Record terms (over 140,000 substance names) were added to the MeSH Database. This database now contains the full MeSH vocabulary.

March 2005, the number of unique IPs searching PMC for a month topped 1 million for the first time. As of May 1:
