Trustees is a governing body of volunteer community leaders who are representative of the communities that SWFLCF

Mr. Brett was admitted to the Florida and Federal Bar Associations in 1973 with a Juris Doctor from the University of
Florida and has been in private practice with Sheppard, Brett, Stewart, Hersch, Kinsey & Hill PA since 1973, where he is
currently the senior attorney. When Mr. Brett was elected to the Southwest Florida Community Foundation Board in
1999, his experience in the fields of probate trust law, real estate law, and commercial litigation immediately became an
asset to the Community Foundation leadership. Previously, Mr. Brett served as Secretary-Treasurer of the Board of
Trustees.
Ms. Driscoll graduated from Regis College and Suffolk University Law School and has been Vice President of Corporate

as a visiting scholar at two prominent universities, and is a frequent teacher, panelist, moderator, and presenter about
business ethics issues in the U.S. and England. Ms. Driscoll first joined the Southwest Florida Community Foundation
Board of Trustees in 2005 and is an active volunteer and leader.
Mr. David Shellenbarger graduated from Michigan State University with a BS degree in Business and Marketing and
immediately joined the workforce where he became a computer industry entrepreneur for thirty years and ran his
own software company for seventeen years in Rochester, Michigan. Mr. Shellenbarger came to the Community
Foundation with a strong business background, which also includes serving as a President and Board member of
the community foundation in Rochester, Michigan for ten years. He is currently an Advisory Board member of
SWFLCF’s Bonita Springs Community Foundation division and is a great addition to the Board of the Southwest
Florida Community Foundation.
Ms. Donna Kaye has been a resident of Fort Myers, Florida since 1970, and became a member of the SWFLCF Board of
Trustees in 1999. She has served as Secretary-Treasurer of the Board, Vice Chair, and Chair of the Board. Active in civic
affairs, Donna has been Treasurer of the Nature Center, President of Capital Investors, and a board member of the
Edison Community College Foundation, and the Imaginarium. For years, she and her husband were owners and
operators of a commercial printing company in Fort Myers. The Kayes also owned and published HOMES Magazine, the
first real estate magazine of its kind in Lee County. Ms. Kaye is currently SWFLCF’s Immediate Past Chair and serves on
several committees.
SWFLCF is grateful for the service and dedication of these individuals. They are community leaders who serve the people
of Southwest Florida by showing and advocating the highest levels of leadership and philanthropic action for lasting
impact.
