CURRENT ISSUES
ADDRESS MANAGEMENT
 Follow accepted AMS guidelines
 Establish relationship with local AMS office
 Assign unique street address to each unit
 Eliminate use of building number on mail – it is
    NOT an address
 Follow up on proper use of street address
FY 2005 ISSUES
COMMUNICATION
 Monthly updates between USPS and MPSA
 Work through management chain of
command – initially deal with Postmaster
 Follow up:
     – name
     – address
     – phone number of decision making individual
 Use PO -630 as a resource to understand
    chain of command
FY 2005 ISSUES

 If either party wishes to change the current level of
service, it must be discussed locally first. There are
ways to change, but it must start locally. If changes
are made, the local parties must implement that
change, so it will be most successful if it fulfills the
    needs of both parties.
STEPS FOR SUCCESS
 Establish working relationship
 Improve on common basis for services provided – we
    are all mail professionals
 Minimize local controversies
 Reinforce USPS/DoD partnership
    FY 2005 ISSUES
 Scanner Replacement
 Other equipment maintenance/replacement
    issues
 Automation of DoD mail
 Ongoing mail security issues
     – Bio-contamination
     – Base Access
