Welcome to the RA Application Process!
Congratulations! You have just made the first step towards an amazing leadership opportunity! Each year we
look for a group of special students who possess the unique combination of energy, interpersonal skills, and
leadership necessary to succeed in the RA position. We look forward to seeing what you have to offer our
department throughout the RA selection process.

The RA role is a highly challenging but rewarding experience. The position requires a large time commitment
and is considered your primary responsibility outside of class. Please use the selection process to gain a more
complete understanding of the RA position and to evaluate your readiness for this leadership role.

Also, please take the opportunity to ask questions of current RAs and the Residence Directors. They can help
you gain a clearer picture of the RA position and what is required to fulfill this role. Having these
conversations with members from different staffs on campus can also help you learn about the varying
environments and student populations in each residence hall area.

The following items are provided in this application packet. Please make sure to read over each of them
carefully and to contact one of us should you have any questions.
