Hicks Receives Highest REALTOR Honor
Sharon Hicks, REALTOR from Clovis, was honored as recipient of the REALTORS Association of New Mexico’s
(RANM) highest honor – being named 2010 REALTOR of the Year.
Hicks received this award during ceremonies at the RANM Annual Conference September 23rd. The Conference
was held at the Hilton Santa Fe Golf Resort and Spa at Buffalo Thunder.
The RANM REALTOR of the Year is awarded annually to an outstanding leader who has committed time, talent,
and expertise to the REALTOR organization, their community, and to furthering the real estate profession.
Sharon Hicks began her career in real estate in 1971 in Levellan, Texas. Her New Mexico real estate career began
in 1989 when she joined RE/MAX First Place REALTORS of Clovis.
Hicks’ New Mexico real estate career not only includes success as a real estate professional and top producer, but
hours of service to the Clovis Board, the REALTORS Association of New Mexico, the Certified Residential Specialist (CRS)
organization, and the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS (NAR).
She has served on nearly every Clovis Board committee; was 2000 president; and was named Clovis REALTOR of
the Year in 2000.
Hicks also has served as president of the New Mexico CRS Chapter and was a Regional Vice President for CRS at
the national level.
Sharon Hicks has served RANM on nearly every committee and has attended more RANM conferences, retreats,
and special functions than nearly any other member. She served two terms as Southeast District Vice President and four
years on RANM’s Executive Committee.
Hicks has also found time to attend RE/MAX and NAR conferences throughout her career and volunteer for a
number of community activities.
Sharon was born in Monahans, Texas; graduated from Monterrey High School in Lubbock, and attended Texas
Tec h University. She lives in Clovis with her husband of 49 years Don Hicks. They are parents of a son, Todd, and
Hicks will be honored with other state REALTORS of the Year during the National Association of REALTORS
Annual Convention, November 3-8, 2010 in New Orleans, Louisiana.
