The Market capitalization increased marginally from N5.743tr to N5.780tr at the
close of business today. The Net percentage charge was +0.65 while the market
index recorded 23, 835.73.
Three of the sectoral indices appreciated (NSEFBT10, NSE 30 & NSE INS 10)
compared with two the previous week.
The banking sector remained the most active. Volume in this sector was largely
driven by activity in the shares of Access, Diamond, UBA, Fidelity, FCMB and
Similarly, the insurance sector also traded large volume as Staco, Contisure and
AIICO traded 72, 107, 800, 11,038, 935 and 10, 542, 572 units respectively.
Many companies traded at maximum price, while some traded minimum. Some of
those companies which traded maximum include Flourmill, Japauloil, Tantalizer,
Glaxosmith, Nestle, Unilever etc.
Julius Berger, Cadbury, Fidelity, Big treat, 7UP among other traded at minimum
price (5% down).
