Coach’s Corner…
March’s dinner meeting attendance increased another 20% over the already 23% increase we had in
January/February over 2009! Thank you for participating in our programs. Please let us know the subjects
you would like to hear about and we will look for speakers that are expert in the areas you would like to
explore.
At the March Dinner meeting I mentioned that we will be taking nominations for our 2011 Board of Directors.
Jamie Swan has been appointed as chairwoman of the nomination committee this year. Please contact her if
you have suggestions for nominees for President Elect, VP of Programs, VP of Education, VP of Membership,
Treasurer, or Secretary. We will have elections at our May dinner meeting.
Elected board members appoint directors to assist in their area of responsibility. Participating as a Board
Officer, Director or committee member of a not for profit organization such as APICS offers unique career
growth potential including building leadership skills and enhanced management development. These skills
can help in many areas of life and career. If you are interested in helping our elected officials manage our
chapter, please contact myself or any of the board officers.
In April we will again be allowing the first 10 unemployed members to attend the PDM at no charge so that
you can network with our attendees. Remember that APICS extends membership for up to (3) six month
periods for the unemployed. The process for the extension is simple, get the form from APICS and fill it out,
email it to me and I will sign it off and send it to APICS Corporate.
Many of you have asked us to keep sending our hard copy newsletter as well as the soft e-copy, but some of
you have requested to have the hard copy stopped. We have not done this yet because of the data
overwrite from APICS Corporate each month. If a database knowledgeable person were to volunteer, I am
sure we can solve this problem.
Don’t forget to register for the Sales and Operations Planning seminar that is being held in partnership with
Oliver Wight at Red Rocks on April 2, 2010. This looks to be a great learning experience that you don’t want
to miss.
I hope to see you at our Professional Development Meeting on April 8. As always, feel free to contact me
with any needs, concerns or suggestions for the APICS Colorado Chapter.

Not sure if CPIM is right for you? ‘Sample’ a class!
The Colorado APICS Chapter is now offering prospective students the opportunity to sit-in on an
hour of a regularly scheduled CPIM course to see if the class meets their needs.
If you are interested in ‘sampling’ a class or would like additional information, please contact
Honey Johnson, VP of Education at hjohnson@msstech.com or
Bob Abeyta, Director of Classes at rabeyta@cerapedics.com.
You must receive confirmation to participate.
Help! Help! Help!
In this slow economy, several of our APICS Chapter members have been out of work for some
time and continue to look for permanent positions with local companies.
Some of these folks are certified and or have many years of
supply chain experience.
The folks in our Chapter Resume Bank have some great qualifications and great attitudes
and many are willing to do whatever it takes to earn a position in your firm.
They will work as a temporary and start in any position.
If you have openings, please look at our chapter members and contact Angie Stuck
(astuck@msstech.com) for copies of
resumes in our Colorado Chapter Resume bank.
Thank you!
