Objective (s)

 Establish base guidelines for templates, processes and
  procedures for creating OIS Intranet web pages, for posting
  content to these pages and for ensuring content is current and
  consistent with OIS standards.

 Purchase and install standard web-based tools and software for
  designated OIS staff, as needed.

 Recommend a staffing plan for ongoing maintenance and
  coordination of the OIS Intranet.

 Recommend a migration plan for moving existing OIS Intranet
  web sites into the new environment.

Benefit (s)

 OIS Intranet web sites will be uniform in design, and will be
  created and maintained using a standard set of web-based tools.

 OIS Intranet web sites will contain valid, current information.

Anticipated Decision Consequences

Consequence of “NO” Decision

     OIS will have no set guidelines, procedures or templates for
      Intranet design, creation and maintenance of web pages on the
      OIS intranet. The information contained may not be kept
      current. People will be reluctant to use the OIS Intranet.
Consequence of “Yes” Decision

     OIS will have a convenient tool for sharing information across
      the organization.

     The OIS Intranet pages will be consistent in look, feel, security
      and location.
