									                                                         Templates for Graphing Your Data

Purpose of Templates:

    The templates available in this Excel workbook were constructed to assist districts with understanding and analyzing data through graphical representation. Graphs
    typically make it easier to compare/contrast, to communicate results and to make inferences about what the data indicate and what the data do not indicate.

Uses of Templates:
   These templates can be used to graph the State Performance Plan (SPP) data indicators listed below. Worksheets to create these templates are categorized under
   three areas as follows:

How to Use the Templates:
   • Download or save this original file then use Save As to save to your computer prior to entering information. If you choose not to save, you will lose any information
   entered and the graphs created.
    • There are three worksheets for Student Assessment, two for Transition and one for Educational Environments
    • To access the templates on each of these worksheets, click one each of the colored tabs below. Each worksheet contains two printable pages. The first page
    contains the graphs and can be printed for handouts. The second page contains the directions for creating the graphs and should not be included in handouts. To
    move between the two pages, simply scroll left or right.

Limitations of Templates:
    These templates are set up to graph percentages based on designated formulas. If other percentages are calculated by the user, formulas and notes explaining the
    elements or variable used should be include to aid in communicating results to others.

Where and How to Get Help:
   • If you accidentally alter the templates, simply download or save a new one from the web.

  Step 1: Click on each of the yellow cells in the table below and for each year, enter
  your district's percent of IEP students who were in each of the follow-up categories.
  Be sure to type data into the correct cell for each year. Follow-up data for students
  with disabilities is on page 9 of the District Profile.
  Step 2: Click on each of the green cells in the table below and for each year, enter
  your district's percent of All students who were in each of the follow-up categories.
  Be sure to type data into the correct cell for each year.

  Step 3: Check your graph for data entry errors. Your graph displays the data
  you entered in each cell.
