                    Tactical Combat Casualty Care

States Military Special Operations Command (SOCOM), will enable the Tactical Response Officer
to develop, implement and employ a casualty response plan in the event of a traumatic combat injury
to himself or another officer. This would include the required training and equipment necessary to
provide state-of-the-art and tactically sound medical care in a hostile-fire situation. This program is
targeted to Law Enforcement Officers who are engaged in special operations, SWAT, narcotics
enforcement, service of warrants or any other high risk activity. In addition to classroom lecture,
students will be expected to perform both practical skills demonstrations and live-fire scenario-based
exercises in austere conditions, while in full tactical dress. Students will also be exposed to the
various types of tactical medical equipment currently being used by the military and civilian law
enforcement teams. The cost of this course will include the student text and an individual Bleeding
Control Kit which the student may keep.

participants will learn: (1) their role within the organization and exactly where they fit into the overall picture; (2)
importance of knowing from the beginning what the chief/director expects; (3) recognizing the significance of
knowing the community and the power structure within it; (4) how to deal with angry citizens and easing tempers
and tensions; (5) some of the internal forces that create pressure and tension within the organization; (6) when to
speak for the chief / director when the situation warrants; (7) ways to improve your verbal communication
skills...certain words that can either arouse or calm; (8) how to deal with ethical dilemmas; (9) some liability issues;

Investigating the Occult: Religion, Witchcraft and Magic

Course Description: This seminar provides investigators with an introduction to the beliefs, practices and rituals of
various religious systems. An emphasis will be placed on their structures, symbolism, and the evolution of the
systems as they pertain to a criminal or civil investigation. Various cults, hate groups, and subcultures will be
addressed to give the student an understanding of the different behaviors associated with the specific groups.
Students will then learn how to identify a crime scene or evidence recovered from an incident for possible ritualistic
significance and finally how to proceed with the investigation.

Purpose: Homicide, sexual assault, aggravated assault, and desecration of human remains or venerated objects are
some of the offenses committed in the name of or under the guise of religious practice. These crimes are committed
in urban as well as rural locales, on public and private property, and everywhere from schools to correctional
facilities. These crime scenes are often distasteful, mysterious, and complicated by myth and misunderstanding.
The investigation or even mere discovery of such incidents requires highly specialized training that was not widely
available, until now.
