                              Numbered Lists
•   Word can automatically create numbered lists
•   Word keeps track of the numbers; inserted items are renumbered
•   Automatic lists resist reformatting!
•   Click the Numbered List Tool and begin typing the list

             Formatting and Finishing Numbered Lists
• Choose Format, then select Bullets and Numbering
• Select the desired style from the “Numbered” tab
• To finish the list, press the Enter key and unclick the Numbered
   List Tool or reenter the Format menu and select “None”

               Stopping and Restarting Numbered Lists
• Insert text into the list without adding numbers by clicking off the
    numbered list tool
• Add the text in between the numbers
• To continue the list, choose Format, then select Bullets and Numbering,
    then click “Continue previous list” and select “OK”

• Choose Format, then select Bullets and Numbering
• Select the desired style from the “Outline Numbered” tab
• Promote and demote outline levels by using the Increase Indent
   and Decrease Indent Tools

• Place the mouse pointer over the edge of the cell to be changed
• When the pointer changes to parallel lines with opposite arrows,
    left-click and drag the line to the desired width

• Choose Help, then select Microsoft Word Help (or, Press F1)
• The Office Assistant will appear (if not already visible) with a
   question box to enable the user to ask for help.
• Type the words you want to search for, then click on “Search”
• Word will look for the words you typed in all help articles

                     Changing the Office Assistant Icon
•   Choose Help, then select Microsoft Word Help (or, Press F1)
•   The Office Assistant will appear (if not already visible)
•   Click the “Options” button
•   Select the “Gallery” tab, and use the “Back” and “Next” buttons
•   To get rid of the Office Assistant, right-click the icon and choose “Hide”

• The Options dialog box, with its 10 tabs, gives greater control over
   program effects
• The “View” tab controls how things look on the screen
