       Continuity of Operations (COOP) Plan?
The uninterrupted execution of essential functions when the
primary facility is no longer available (*pandemic exception)
        --Typically, by moving a small team of principals and staff
to perform essential functions at an alternate location.
        --Addresses All-hazards e.g., natural, manmade disasters

                  Interim Plan
   The Task Force developed and the Texas
    Supreme Court adopted the Interim Plan.
   Provides for interim guidance for courts until a
    full plan is developed and adopted.
   Has been used in emergencies multiple times
    since adoption.
   Encouraging Commissioners Courts to adopt.

      Why does my county need the
             interim plan?
   Certain judicial function are mandated to occur
    within a certain timeframe
       Magistration under CCP Article 15.17
       Juvenile Detention Hearings

       Emergency Protective Orders

   Without an interim plan, your County may not
    be ready to provide essential judicial functions in
    times of emergency.

           What’s in the Interim Plan?
   In an emergency, judges notify the Chief Justice or the
    Regional Presiding Judge of need for assistance.
   Creates mutual assistance between counties in the state
      Space

      Facilities

      Technology

   24 hours notice – assistance for up to 7 days
      If more assistance needed, counties work out
       interlocal agreement
   Costs reimbursed
