When you open a unit, look out for icons like this on the right hand side of the web page. These link to the Framework
                       resources.

While this document is primarily linking ICT with the literacy framework, there are clear cross curricular links
                       throughout.
The document also provides links to the Lambeth City Learning Centre and the highly specialised support they offer to schools in enhancing
their provision of ICT. The resources they can loan to schools and the workshops they offer are listed beside the relevant literacy units –
however the CLC will also provide bespoke assistance for schools. For further information and to request a place on any of the sessions or
projects please email info@lambethclc.org.uk

One of the one day workshops can apply to any of the literacy units and that is : Theme It (KS2) Thursdays in term time. Using either
podcasting or comic creation software, pupils will create their own presentations for display on your school’s MLE. Sessions can
link to any curriculum area. Teachers must provide class images/written work in advance of the session.

If you are thinking of compiling your own media/animation kits for your school, please contact the CLC for advice on
purchasing the equipment.

                                                                    Fronter

The London MLE (Managed Learning Environment) is a learning platform powered by Fronter.

At the heart of any learning platform is the concept of an online personal learning space for the pupil. This space should offer teachers and
pupils’ access to stored work, e-learning resources, communication and collaboration with peers, and the facility to track progress. With
password controlled access to a learning platform:
 the pupil can work from any computer with an internet connection (preferably broadband) in school, from home or elsewhere
 teachers can check individual pupil progress much more easily, and offer advice and resources tailored to the particular needs of an
        individual student
 parents or guardians can readily look at schoolwork from a home computer or community access point and become more closely
        involved in the pupil’s development.

Where the learning platform is integrated with a school’s management information system (MIS), as with the London MLE, these benefits
deepen for everyone, offering school managers and teachers, in particular, significant and time-saving administrative efficiencies.

Planning, Preparation and Assessment (PPA) statutory requirement will be significantly easier using an appropriate and embedded learning
platform such as the London MLE powered by Fronter.
