Directions to Speedgate Farm
From the M25 (North): Come off at Junction 3 - Swanley, take the A20 south to West Kingsdown, carry on for three miles, turn left into 'Scratchers Lane' (sign-posted Fawkham Green and the Paddock entrance of Brands Hatch). Take the second left called Three Gates Road and go over the motorway. At the second set of crossroads turn left into Mussenden Lane. Speedgate Farm is 100 metres on the left.
From Longfield (East): From the roundabout in Longfield head to Fawkham Green. After three miles turn right up Speedgate Hill. At the top of the hill go straight over the crossroads. Speedgate farm is 100 metres on the left
From Wrotham (South): Head towards Brands Hatch, At the Portabello Inn turn right towards Fawkham Green and the Paddock entrance of Brands Hatch. After 2 miles take the second right turn, Three Gates Road over the motorway. At the second set of crossroads turn left into Mussenden Lane. Speedgate Farm is 100 metres on the left.

DRESSAGE TO MUSIC CLASSES. Entrants in the Music Classes must be British Dressage Full/Music Members. CD’s – competitors must have their NAME, HORSES NAME, CLUB and PLAYING INSTRUCTIONS clearly marked on the CD and its CASE. Apart from the Dressage to Music, the above classes are qualifiers for the British Riding Clubs National Championships to be held at th The Lincolnshire Showground on 12 /13th September 2009. In addition the 5 highest placed teams in the Senior Novice Dressage and the 4 highest in the Senior Riding Test who do not qualify for the National Championships will qualify for the London & South East Novice Championships at Heath Farm, Heath Lane, Godalming on SUNDAY 27 SEPTEMBER 2009 . The National Dressage to Music Championships will take place at Addington Equestrian Centre (to be confirmed), and the first six competitors in the Senior and Junior Novice Freestyle will also qualify for the London & South East Dressage to Music Championships.

TEST:
This will be based on the movements required for the BRC Novice Freestyle to Music test but no movement is compulsory and no penalties will be given for additional advanced movements. However any movements above Novice standard will be marked according to the level at which they are executed Any tack permitted under British Dressage rules may be used and also a Pelham bridle as part of the costume. Boots and bandages may be worn and whips carried. Footwear with a defined heel must be worn. Hats must comply with Riding Club Rule G22.2 Programme length up to four and one half minutes from the move off after the salute at the start to the halt before the final salute at the end
Class 2.
PAS DE DEUX (Pairs in costume)
Open to competitors (including juniors) riding horses / ponies with no more than 124 affiliated dressage points. Pairs may consist of adults, juniors or one of each.
TEST:
Dress as Pas Seul above – Programme and Movements to follow BRC Pairs Dressage to Music (2003) – otherwise as above.
DRESSAGE & RIDING TEST TIMES
These will be sent out in the post week beginning the 6th July 2009 to the ADDRESS ON THE SAE PROVIDED. They will also be posted on the Area 10 website: www.brcarea10.org.uk
ENTRIES
Preliminary entries must be received to the British Riding Club office by Friday 19th June 2009. The official area qualifier entry form must be received by the Show Secretary by Friday 26th June 2009. No substitutions will be accepted after Wednesday, 8th July 2009 except in the case of lameness or illness and the substituted rider/horse must ride be eligible for and ride the same test as the competitor who has withdrawn. £45.00 per team £12.00 per individual (excluding Dressage to music) £15.00 per individual for Dressage to music £17.00 for pairs and pairs Dressage to music Please make cheques payable to Fawkham & District Riding Club. Please send with your entries the following: Official entry form Cheque made payable to FAWKHAM & DISTRICT RIDING CLUB Equine Influenza Certificates. All competitors must have an up to date Equine Influenza Certificate which must, under penalty of elimination, accompany the horse to this competition. The original certificate must be handed in to the secretary on the day of the competition. For all those horses not on the area database a photocopy must be sent to the Entries Secretary with the official Entry. Helper Form, IT IS A CONDITION OF ENTRY THAT EACH CLUB PROVIDES the Names, address and telephone numbers (including e-mail and mobile) of two people (per club entering teams) to help on the day. This must be sent with your entry or it will be returned as incomplete. Large stamped address envelope with correct postage for large letters If your club are making an entry in the Dressage to music section, please note we will require music to be recorded to CD.
GENERAL RULES AND CONDITIONS
1. All entries are accepted only upon the terms of the general rules and conditions below. The signature on the entry form shall be deemed to be an acceptance of the rules and conditions. 2. The judges’ decisions are final. 3. Health & Safety – The organisers of this event have taken reasonable precautions to ensure the health and safety of everyone present. For these measures to be effective, everyone must take all reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents and must obey the instructions of the organisers and all officials and stewards. 4. Disclaimer of Liability – Save for the death or personal injury caused by the negligence of the organisers or anyone for whom they are in law responsible, neither the organisers of any event to which these rules apply, nor the British Horse Society, nor any agent, employee or representative of these bodies accepts any liability for any accident, loss, damage injury or illness to horses, owners, riders, spectators, vehicles, land or any other person or property whatsoever, whether caused by negligence, breach of contract or in any other way whatsoever. 5. Protective Headgear – Everyone mounted, whether competing or not, must wear a hard hat with a harness properly adjusted and fastened. Failure to do so will incur elimination. Hats marked BS/EN 1384, PAS015 or prefixed with ASTM or SE1 are the minimum standard allowed. Where the hat is of skull cap style, this must be worn with a cover. 6. All dogs must be kept on leads. 7. All other rules as per the British Riding Clubs Official Rules 2009. 8. Horses must not be left tied to a horsebox or trailer unattended. Should any accident occur or damage be caused by this action you will be held responsible. 9. Protests - These may be lodged only by the Chairman or Chef d'Equipe or nominated representative of the Club concerned. These must be in writing and accompanied by a deposit of £20.00. They must be addressed to the organiser of the competition. 10. Competitors must not ill treat any horse/pony on the showground. 11. Horseboxes and trailers must not be mucked out on the showground. Please take all rubbish home with you. 12. Entrants in the music Classes must be British Dressage Full/ Music Members. 13. TAPES/C.D’s – WOULD ALL COMPETITORS HAVE THEIR NAMES/ADDRESS/INSTRUCTIONS CLEARLY MARKED ON THE CASSETTES. PLEASE HAND TO SECRETARY AT LEAST 30 MINUTES BEFORE THEY ARE DUE TO COMPETE 14. In the event of cancellation of this event £2 shall be retained from each competitor to cover administrative expenses.
