This week we held a New Leader Essentials training, one that I know many leaders need to take, and only three people came... President Clark has stressed that our leaders all be trained in Scout leader training, which will help you to run a better program (that means a safer, more efficient and best of all, more fun program for the boys). When Scout leaders are "called", they need to be made aware of the training they are required to take and they need to commit to get trained. This is very, very important. Not just for program quality, but for liability and insurance purposes also. Please review the attached MS Excel spreadsheet called "Poway Stake BSA Training Report". This is a report that we are asking you to keep up to date and send in quarterly. We would like the first report sent in by the end of this month. If you do not have access to MS Excel let me know and I will mail you a printed version of the report. Likewise, if you have any questions about training, let me know. In addition to training dates, the report asks you to track the status of your Quality Unit certifications. Most wards have not yet turned in any Quality Unit forms for their units and if yours are not done, we would like those completed this month when you turn in this report. I will be calling each Unit Committee Chairman individually to make sure you understand the report and how important it is that we track this information. 2nd Counselors, will you please confer with your Committee Chairmen to provide them with any support they need. Yours in the brotherhood of Scouting, Steve Boyack Poway Stake YM Presidency/Scouting Commissioner If for any reason you wish to no longer be on this email list, please let me know and I will remove you. If you have changed callings, please let me know and if possible give me the contact details for the person now filling your calling in the YM organization.
