Instructions for Speakers
We ask you to hand in your talk not later than two hours before the start of your session. We will have memory sticks for transferring from hard disk to hard disk and can also read optical media (CD or DVD). Please make sure that all what is needed for your presentation is collected in one folder. This folder should have the family name of the corresponding author as it appears in the conference program. We will supply a Windows XP-SP3 laptop connected to a video projector (beamer) for the oral presentations. The machine has a full installation of Office 2007 as well as Acrobat Professional 9 and QuickTime 7.6 with most codecs. Please prepare your talk either in PowerPoint or PDF format. The physical and optimum resolution of the beamer is 1024 x 768 pixels.
Instructions for Poster Presentations
The poster panels allow a maximum size of DIN A0, i.e. a width of 841 mm and a height of 1189 mm. In case you have two posters or you wish to be adjacent to a colleague with a related topic, please contact the poster chairman (Laci Andricek, lca@hll.mpg.de) about a particular arrangement.
Submission of Manuscripts
The conference proceedings will be published in Nuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research Section A (NIM A). The final papers must be submitted until June 11 Click left for (last day of the conference). They will undergo a refereeing NIM A author procedure and have to conform to the rules of NIM A. Please be as instructions precise and concise as possible and please try to avoid status-report or see further like articles. We have been granted a limited amount of pages and below. will have to reject papers of inadequate length. We are often asked whether there is a maximum (or minimum) number of pages per article. We avoid providing a general number. Papers should be as short as possible and as long as needed. Deriving a page number per article would require predicting how many papers will be submitted and accepted in the end.
Please submit a PDF file of your article at http://sds.hll.mpg.de (the submission will be opened in May). The PDF will be used for the refereeing process and when final also serves as a reference for the publisher.

Once you paper is accepted and final, our publisher will need all source files of your text and figures. We will instruct you about the upload procedure in time. Your paper may contain color figures which are included in the online version for free. In case the printed version of your article includes figures, please be aware that there will be extra costs, which are not covered by the conference fee. The price for each figure is € 473 (excluding VAT). These costs will be borne by the author(s) of a contribution containing one or more colored pages. The same author(s) will jointly receive 100 complimentary off prints of that contribution. If you wish to estimate the approximate length of an article, we can provide a sample article (please contact Emma Fleischman via sds@hll.mpg.de).
