WHY WE CHOSE Lab VIEW:


 The software has been developed using the National Instruments Lab VIEW 7.1.


 The Lab VIEW environment makes easy the rapid development of advanced
   Virtual instruments,


 It uses a pure graphical language.


 Lab VIEW has been found to be a powerful tool which reduces the cost .


 It is useful for the Internet related tasks.

  Developed by National Instruments


  ‘G’ Language works on Data Flow Technique


  Widely used for Data Acquisition, Instrument Control and Industrial Automation on
    various platforms.
NEED


      Common man gets information only through newspaper or television


      Probably five or six hours after the event.


      There has always been need for effective Communication.
System Design Steps: (Web/internet environment.)
o   The Temperature and pH Monitoring VIs will continuously measure the temperature
    and pH of the water sample and store the data in the specified file. (Data Storage)

o   This will alert the clients, when the temperature or the pH has exceeded the alarm set
    point. ( Alert System)

o    Implement a web enabled, multi-platform system for monitoring and controlling.
    (Web/internet environment.)

o Develop the software for this which can handle data collection, data storage and
  retrieval and process control modules.

o   ASP.NET programming using VB.NET is used to create a portal which can be
    accessed from Client Computer. The Control VI and Monitoring VI‘s front panels can
    be accessed remotely.(Web Publishing Tool)

o On the Client Computer, the portal is opened and the username and password
   credentials are specified which provides the client with the access to the Monitor and
  Control VI. When the client requests for the control the sever grants him. The client can
  choose to open the monitor VI or the control VI.
    Part I : Case Study:     Data acquisition system


•    Generate Signal using Test circuit

•    Acquire Signal , Analysis and Produce using DAQ Assistant

•    DAQ card

•    60 MHz Digital Storage Oscilloscope(DSO)

HOW IT WORKS:
    Geological Site updates data about the recent information throughout the world
      frequently


    VI extracts the data from this Site and processes it


    The information comes as a text file which is broken down to Individual Arrays under
      the Data field like Date and Time, Latitude and Longitude etc.
CONTD..


    Data collected from the Site is saved into a file on the HDD for further use


    The recent information is separated and shown.


    A threshold value can be set using a Numeric Control on the Front Panel


    The magnitude of recent information is constantly Compared with the threshold value


    An alarm is sounded when the magnitude exceeds the threshold
What is ASP ?


    Active Server Pages

    A series of objects and components that are executed on the web server

    ASP itself is not Object-Oriented.

    ASP can use objects but cannot define new objects like:

    Server

    Application

    Session

    and on any device.

               Conclusion


   The optimization techniques are presented here is real world Problem to analyze and
    measure different parameters of a system.


    We can simulate these systems using available simulators and virtual system modeling
    tools.


    Easy way of learning layout design.


 Key challenge: optimization of design metrics i.e. Design metrics compete with one another.
