Artist: Scott McFarland
Theme: Photographer Scott McFarland creates exacting images that depict
nature crafted to human will and desire. In this exhibition,
McFarland groups his photographs into three themes: gardens,
photography: art and the document, and animals. The exhibition
comprises three series of works, Gardens (2001–06), Hampstead
(2005 continuing), and Empire (2003 continuing). A major body of
work focuses on Vancouver gardens.
Lenders: Works from the CMCP and NGC collections, as well as loans from
the artist, several private lenders, and one corporate lender.
Catalogue: A bilingual catalogue accompanies the exhibition. This 88-page
publication includes an essay by the exhibition curator, Andrea
Kunard; 33 colour plates; and the artist’s biography. On sale for
