VCU-MCV SGA General Meeting for October 20, 2004
Meeting was called to order by President Agarwal at 1739 hours.
Jean Clark, Administrator of University Dining, came in to elicit more feedback
regarding food programs at Hunton Hall, which is under renovation plans. We explored options
regarding what time of day that students need food service. Many people agreed that early hours
would be good as well as afternoon. Some representatives felt that smoothies and wrap
sandwiches would be popular items.
On the same subject, support was gained from representatives that faculty dining should
not be worked into the design process at Hunton Hall.
MCV Campus student fees are $18 per student per year. It has been decided that the
SGA cannot support all the student organizations on the MCV Campus, financially. There are
over 200 organizations across our campus. Representatives are urged to pass on to classmates,
that if their organization wants to have joint effort for philanthropy or social events, to contact
SGA board members. The SGA would be more than happy to support organizations in a joint
In regards to the BOV issue….In an informal vote, the representatives agreed that the
president of the SGA should be the representative to the BOV. Also, they agreed that we should
support the MP Campus in having 1 MP Representative, and 1 MCV Representative.
The MCV SGA has decided to change our bylaw and constitution name to, Medical
College of Virginia Campus Student Government Association of Virginia Commonwealth
Ashley Hall and Thomas Ridder are looking for support for their Habitat for Humanity
Project. Students who want to help will go build a house onsite. Habitat for Humanity builds
homes for people throughout Richmond. It will be held on November 6, 2004 from 8:00am-
about 1:00pm or 2:00pm. The location is TBA. More information can be obtained by emailing

www.vcu.edu/sga/med/contact.html. They are also working on a toy drive for the holidays.
