Items: Minute taker – Patrick Hogan 1. Minutes from last official meeting (July 8nd) could not be found. 2. eGov report – Carl, Duane and Joe attended the eGov F2F meeting. Two new ebXML registries identified: DOD Registry and an ebXML registry product named XML Collaborator from Blue Oxide. Both are planning to implement version 3.0 registries. 3. WSRP report – F2F meeting two week ago. Latest draft document reviewed. Next step to make changes to reflect a format more like the UDDI document. Then, need to review final draft and approve. 4. ebSOA report – Duane chaired the Vancouver F2F and reported that the meeting was very productive. Draft documents should be available for review by the ebSOA team in the near future. Team needs to review Core Components work. 5. SAML discussion – ebXML Registries need to support SAML 1.1. When deploying ebXML Registry we are faced with having to duplicate our user database within ebXML Registry. We observe that the SAML 1.1 standard is an OASIS approved standard that could help address our problem completely by allowing single sign capability across all our SAML enabled systems thus eliminating the duplication of user databases. Action Item: (Farrukh) Need feedback on SAML specification for next meeting. 6. Shorter URNs – (Nikola and Farrukh) Must comply with RFC 3121. Every time our version changes the Slot metadata in the registry would need to be migrated. This is unacceptable from a usability standpoint. Farrukh proposed that we only use version in URNs where it is likely to be version dependent. Farrukh further propose that we remove the spec component of the URN from the ebRIM and ebRS spec. This needs to be made a high priority bug fix. 7. Interop demos – Patrick, David and Duane to research the five (5) individual demo opportunities and make suggestion to the team on which once should be supported and develop a standard ebXML demo capability for future use. 8. Spec discussion – Editing done except for SAML and items discussed at this meeting. Team needs to review and make corrections. Team should review comments from Open GIS. Team should send correction in plain text with line numbers added. Need three implementations of new version of the specifications. Patrick Hogan has volunteered OSDL ebXML Pilot as one implementation with NIST pilot a possible second candidate for implementation.
9. Other issues/items – a. Once the DSS TC publishes the specification on Digital Signature the ebXML Registry TC needs to review it. Next meeting will be in Brussels. Carl Mattocks to be informal liaison between ebXML Registry TC and DSS TC. b. Review work of WSRS and WSDM TC’s to determine if a liaison needs to be assigned to either due to potential conflicts between specifications. Joe volunteered to be the WSRS liaison if required and Patrick Hogan volunteered to be the WSDM liaison if required. 10. Next meeting – Sept 2, 2004 Thursday.
