           Chapter Members Invited to NIRI Meeting
 The FEI Central Ohio chapter has committed to sharing opportunities with the local chapter of the
 National Investor Relations Institute. NIRI is a professional association of corporate officers and
 investor relations consultants responsible for communication among corporate management, the
 investing public and the financial community. The local NIRI chapter is sponsoring an interactive,
 live demonstration of XBRL.

 Within two years, the SEC will require all corporations to file using this technology called XBRL
 (extensible business reporting language. This transition coincides with the SEC’s plan to replace
 EDGAR with an Internet-based platform.

 Ed Hodder, Senior Director – XBRL Services with Bowne & Co., Inc., will provide an overview and
 demonstration of the XBRL technology.

 The NIRI meeting will be on Thursday Nov. 13th, noon, at the Hilton Columbus at Easton

Matthew M. Miller, who serves as the Director of Tax and Economic Policy for the FEI, spoke to
our chapter at our September meeting.

He is the FEI’s governmental liaison on behalf of our members. Matt is responsible for
identifying key tax, procurement, and economic issues as well as handling related advocacy
strategies for FEI.

Matt stressed the willingness and desire to receive your thoughts and input on key issues facing
your businesses. Matt has offered his services to act as a liaison or to provide you key contacts in
Washington D.C.

He also serves as the staff liaison to FEI’s Committee on Taxation (COT) and Committee on
Government Business (CGB), and is an active member of the Corporate Roundtable on
International Financial Reporting (CRIFR).

Mr. Miller received his Bachelor’s Juris Doctorate from the Seton Hall University School of Law
and his Master of Laws in Taxation (LL.M.) from Georgetown University Law Center.
